Timings of NDT and iron supplements
Hi all, I'm struggling to maintain ferritin levels whilst also trying to adhere to the timings of iron supplements around my NDT and other vitamins. My ferritin is rarely higher than 20s (in the last ten years the highest it has been was 52 just once). I've been on NDT for a year and am gradually

E.T. JAK 2 at 90 years of age
Actually I’m only 89 years 5 months, but on September 1st I was diagnosed with the above. A general blood test showed platelets had risen from 446 last October to 600 July 2023. A great deal of information was given to me by the Associate Specialist and the Specialist Nurse. The information was,

Gastric endo - help!
I haven’t posted in the longest time but really need some help. I have extensive disease requiring surgery, thought to be bowel involvement. MRI due in the next week. I’ve been having dreadful constipation the last few weeks requiring manual evacuation (sorry TMI but it has been awful). Then two days

Post ablation tubal sterilisation syndrome (PATTS)
Has anyone else had both of these surgeries and gone on to have excruciating pain? During my surgery they found endometriosis and I've since had an MRI and CT scan (as well as lots of useless ultrasounds that find nothing). I've been diagnosed with deep infiltrating endo on ovaries, peritoneum and bowel

Any insight into # platinum chemo cycles?
So I'm about to start cisplatinum + etoposide chemo cycles on wed. next week for NECP/SCCP. The first irritant I have of which I'm sure will not be the only one is: I have no idea what the treatment plan is, I don't know how many cycles I'm scheduled for and what the treatment goal is. Researching

Suspected IBS
I've had IBS symptoms for about 15 years. At first I thought it was intolerance to a few foods, and cutting those out seemed to help. But the symptoms seem to get worse and more frequent as I age. I am now 42 and get scared to go out to eat or be in the office all day (thankfully I WFH 4 days a week)

bed wetting has stopped but now child is highly emotional?
hi, just wondering if anyone here that’s had a child that wets the bed had any emotional problems when they stopped? I certainly didn’t expect that stopping bed wetting would cause us any problems 🤦🏼♀️. So this last wee my 9 year old girl has been dry at night. Great news… but now she’s so emotional

Warfarin.
Is anyone with Coeliac taking anything other than Warfarin for AF? I manage my INR ok. I find it a problem at times. GP said it is better I take it. They can check because I might not absorb others well. Because green veg affects it. Holidays and meals out can cause problems. On holidays, my diet

PMR and the effect on mental health.
I consider myself as coping as I am getting to the point of acceptance of this disease after being diagnosed 12 weeks ago as a 57-year-old male but why do I have moments of absolute overwhelming sadness? I have never welled up to this extent and can even feel it coming on, which is very odd indeed.

Metaxalone.
I was diagnosed with PMR September 2023 but I'm unable to have steroids. Due to a heart condition I'm also unable to have Immuno suppresants. My Rheumy has now prescribed Metaxalone for pain relief. Reading the side effects I'm not sure I'm happy to take them as they can affect your kidneys and liver

Is it safe to take mesalazine/octasa long term?
Hi everyone, I'm Claire and was diagnosed with mild/moderative ulcerative colitis last year. Apart from an initial flare up (followed by diagnostic procedures leading to the diagnosis), my only symptoms have been an uncomfortable/slightly painful feeling in my stomach/upper intestine. My gastroenterologist

low T4 and T3 normal TSH
I posted earlier in the year about my daughter diagnosed with post partum thyroiditis , no treatment at the time but endocrinologist said he’d keep an eye on her! Her most recent results seem odd to me in that both T4 and T3 are very low but her TSH is also low - her case has been closed and results

coping strategies
hi all, I finally had my results from my mri confirming I do have a small AN. At least I know what is going on now, but how can something so small have such an effect! I am on watch and wait with another mri in august. My main problem apart from getting my head around something that is never really going
