Sore stomach on apixaban
I’ve been on apixaban for just over 2 months and have 3 weeks to go, then 4 weeks off before a d dimer blood test. I’ve had awful stomach cramps for a couple of weeks, blood in stools and leaking watery blood like I’m wetting myself (lovely picture!). The doctor is sending me for the fast track bladder

A quick update for those that remember my recent posts about the Ablation complications!
Ablation 16/3, artery got damaged, 3 outpatient appointments, 2 failed attempts at thrombin infusion under ultrasound, emergency 3 day admission to hospital with emergency pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula repair (pretty major surgery involving patching the damaged artery with cow veins) . Most

NICE: Teprotumumab for treating thyroid eye disease ID 6432 - being scoped
I have just noticed a new NICE guideline has been started. Only a skeleton at present - in the guideline scoping state. It will probably be years before it is completed. It is good that it has been selected for further work but must be devastating for anyone suffering TED to see how far away this (potential

Buprenorphine patch and swimming
Dear Everyone, About 3 months ago, I started withdrawing from Neupro with the help of Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is only available as a patch in Brasil where I live. I am now free of any dopamine agonist for over 2 months and continue to use Buprenorphine to effectively control my RLS. The quality

Pre-diabetic. Related?
Been feeling really draggy and have had a cold which will not go away for a month. So got a physical. Only abnormality was fasting glucose at pre-diabetes level. Blood sugar has always been low. Diabetes in my family so I am very careful. I am probably 10 lbs overweight, not a lot ( 5' 3" size 8).

Thinning Hair
I’ve been taking Rivaroxaban with Flecainide and Adizem for AFib. My hair has become noticeable thinner. My Consultant has just changed my Rivaroxaban to Apixaban which also has hair loss as a side effect. Does anyone have this problem and are you able to recommend anything to help? I’m 76 years old

Eye drops
Hello, I would like your advice regarding eye drops. I am very myopic and also have cataracts. I use hyabak often throughout the day but my eyes still feel dry and uncomfortable which I think is making my sight even worse! I’m wondering whether I should try longer lasting eye drops. Any suggestions would

update: Zanabrutinib vs Obenven (O&V)
We are praying for Gods wisdom (James1:5), and we’re leaning toward the Zanabrutinib. The infusions and time and distance will be impactful to my husbands work and he’s prefer to go the simpler route. We learned he’s still 13Q and TP53 negative and his lymph nodes are reduced (we have used ALT for

Ureter Restriction from Radiation Treatments?
While I don't have any symptoms (yet), a CT scan and ultrasound tests show that the lower part of my right ureter tube is very narrow and causing the kidney to swell, apparently from restricted flow of urine through the ureter. My University of Chicago Medicine urologist suspects scarring in the ureter

Hyperglycemia from levothyroxine
Has anyone had success coming off of levothyroxine after many years? Does the thyroid function come back around on its own? Can blood sugar be improved by stopping the levothyroxine?

Low eye pressure
I have Normal Tension Glaucoma and had a Deep Scleretomy operation on my right eye 18 months ago ( I believe this is a similar operation to a trab, the aim being to lower the pressure) and I have a bleb under my eyelid. Immediately after surgery the pressure dropped to 3 but gradually over eight months

Motion Sickness
At the ripe old age of 77, I will be taking my first cruise this summer with my children and grandchildren.
