Hi all! New to the forum, what a great community and resource. I was diagnosed with PV recently at age 53 and started a Pegasys a month ago, only 45 mcg every two weeks for a slow start. No initial side effects, but 10 days ago got a sudden ear infection that hasn’t responded to antibiotics. Fullness

I’m worried incase it’s serious. We have been doing the parks and not sure it’s just all catching up

Hi I have recently asked on this site about ear plugs to block out loud music at cinema/theartes. But can I ask if anyone gets ear pain and soreness in their ears constantly with tinnitus. I wake with a headache and a sore left ear. Ear ache during the day. Thankyou

Been smelling smoke for a week after bonfire.
Constantly smelling smoke when the wind changed direction as I burnt some conifer branches. It's happened before but never continued for this long. Cut my nose hair, tried nasal sprays, irrigation etc; to no effect. Only thing that helps is Olbas oil which counters the stink. Googled it and it came

Vertigo and Venclexta?
My husband is starting cycle 12 of Venclexta, reduced to 200mg /day due to 2 bouts of Neutropenia, and has recently experienced Vertigo twice. The first time, I did not associate this with the treatment; however, it seemed peculiar when it happened a second time, only eight weeks later. He was advised

waiting for a hearing test to check for acoustic neuroma
Hi, I’ve had hearing aids for 8 years due to tinnitus. Recently my left ear feels very different from my right. It feels blocked and very deaf. I’ve also had 2 episodes of really loud tinnitus that I’ve never had before. When the tinnitus calmed down I had a migraine later. I’ve been having more migraines

NHS London statement on Synnovis ransomware cyber attack
I am posting this using the NHS' own website version - it is covered across news sites as well. It seems it is having a major impact on blood tests - which might immediately affect some members. As well as the rest of the impact. [i]

How do I manage?
Hi all I first experienced tinnitus in 2020/21. My experience is it only affects my right ear, and can only describe it as sounding high pitched and in morse code. It is not a constant sound, but as I say, is a long beep sound followed by a few short beeps all day long. I had my ears cleaned of earwax

checking T constantly
My tinnitus is bilateral and 24/7. Just started CBT & therapist has set me the task of not “checking” my T by putting my fingers in my ears. I’m struggling not to do this - but unfortunately as I know my T is persistent - it’s a battle - because when I yawn of clench my jaw tightly - I know the T is

Hearing Aids?
Hi, My mum had brain surgery back in 1991 for a schwannoma/acoustic neuroma. Her hearing was affected but as she's got older her hearing in that ear has significantly deteriorated. Mum is sure that she cannot have a hearing aid due to the surgery but I'm wondering if technology has advanced and if

Tinnitus and hearing loss in one ear - not sure what to do next

20 July 2023 Every little bit helps
G'day my ms family. How are YOU today? No, how are YOU really? I know I do not tell my wife every little thing and I know it works the same for her. There is a little apprehension always in the back of your head deep down where people do not see. This is normal. Do not panic. We all

Hello acoustic shock
Hello everyone, I was shopping online and bought 3 personal alarms for £10 they are advertised for children to take to school by attaching them to their schoolbag and the elderly to raise the alarm if they fall out of a chair for example. So I bought these alarms and they arrived on the 24th June and

Pulsatile tinnitus - some success
Hey I’ve lived with Pulsatile Tinnitus for a few years now. Just recently over the last 6 months or so it was getting increasingly worse. To the point I had a full on emotional breakdown last week I couldn’t fathom having to live another hour like this. I started researching self help as I’m awaiting
