Interesting Rheumy Appointment
Hi there, I had my second Rheumy appointment today. It would be an exaggeration to say I prepared for it like a job interview - I stopped short of a powerpoint presentation - but it felt a little bit like that: much at stake and they don't come around very often. I did go over and over the key things

Hand Foot and Mouth disease was I'm sure how I got Viral Meningitis.
I am a primary teacher and in October 2011 a few children in my class had Hand Foot and Mouth disease. However, I was told by PH dept, that once the blisters dry, the child may go back to school. Two weeks later I was diagnosed with VM and now, 10 months later, I'm still struggling to lead a normal

Does Add-back therapy / HRT (tibolone) stop prostap from working? Anyone have any experience?
I was started on prostap injections 3.5 months ago along with Tibolone HRT / addback therapy. My consultant said I had to start taking the HRT pills after 1st 2 weeks even if I didn't have any menopausal side effects. However, my pain (suspected endo, still undiagnosed - lap'opy on 19th Oct) is getting

A BRIEF HISTORY OF RA AND ITS TREATMENT
I thought it would be interesting to delve into the history of RA. It goes back pretty far; farther than I thought it would. Some skeletal remains in what is now Tennessee (USA) date back to 4500 BC and have shown some signs of Rheumatoid Arthritis. So far, that’s been the earliest appearance of this

Recovering from hib bacterial meningitis and feel like my life has been turned upside down.
I am 29 years old, married and have a 15 month old baby girl. One day at the end of June this year I started to feel extremely dizzy, with a stiff neck and felt very weak. I made an emergency doctors appointment and was told I had an inner ear infection. That night, I woke up with a severe headache,

Week 3 Sulfasalazine
Just starting week three of sulfasalazine - three tablets yesterday. So far its been quite manageable. Mild nausea the very first couple of days, and again when I increased to two tablets, so I'm expecting that again with today's increase. "Sea bands" (antiseasickness wrist bands) seem to be enough

Pregabalin and Weight Gain?
Hi everyone, I have recently (yesterday) started taking Pregabalin instead of Gabapentin for chronic pain. I have TMJ and it causes muscular and nerve pain in my face which is quite severe in addition to the joint pain and crunching/clicking every time I open my mouth. I have put on 2.5 stone since
