2nd Endo Opinion Tendon Pain PMs only please
Hello everyone, I am now medicated but still suffering tendon pains in my hands wrists & shoulders. Current endo is saying it’s not the hashimotos but I am sure it is. Rheumatology showed nothing so they put me on NSAIDs I am looking for a 2nd opinion; From the thyroid UK list I can see - Dr Rehman

Xgeva Side Effects
Hi!! Has anyone had extreme pain in hips, groin and femurs caused by Xgeva? I first started with pain in my right side. So bad that I literally have to lift my leg with my hands to get into the car. That was about a year ago. My doctor doesn’t seem to think there’s a problem and doesn’t address it.

Suggestions for questions for gastroenterologist?
Good evening all. Hope you’re as well as can be. Following 4 - 5 months of nausea, epigastric pain, chest pain and palpitations etc I recently underwent an endoscopy. The consultant’s initial report stated ‘diffuse erosive gastritis’ and ‘generalised ulcerated mucosa’. I have some photos and have to

Asprin to prevent dvt
I am having knee replacement next week...We must take blood thnners after to prevent dvt and possible PE.. I get it..Blood thinner of choice is now asprin...tolerated and less side effects.. I am supposed to take the regular dose of 325 mgs BID for a month..I know ASA is not as risky as the the other

knee - replacement advice
I ve had terrible left knee problems for six years and last year was diagnosed with OA in the left knee joint. The consultant at a trust in London advised there was nothing that could be done for me other than replacing the joint. But at 58 he felt I was too young and advised to go away; lose weight

Lyme Disease
Hello, I hope everyone is feeling as well as possible. Can I ask about links between Lyme Disease and RA? What is actually known? My daughter was talking about ticks the other day (we are both walkers) when I said I had had (in my late teens) a bullseye mark from a tick on my leg, she said ‘well that

Shingles Vaccine
I have RA and am currently taking hydroxychloroquin, methotrexate and amgevita. I’m trying to work out whether at age 61 with a compromised immune system, I will qualify for the new shingrix (shingles non-live) vaccine on the NHS? Does anyone know?

Frozen shoulder?
Since getting back from Cyprus where I saw a Rheumatologist but wasn't there long enough to get to the bottom of my symptoms, I've seen my GP who was appalled I'd been prescribed Pred (too young and no inflammation markers - actually I'm 56 and in Cyprus my ESR and CRP were considered raised though clearly

Any thoughts on this method of pain relief for RA please?I've been offered this by the rheumy nurse and must admit to a bit of a shock when the email came through as I thought this drug had been withdrawn 50 years ago! My husband was on this for his asthma when I first met him back in 1973 until he was

Anti-inflammatories?
I've seen a lot of posts recently on how inflammation is the main cause of RLS. But if so, why don't NSAIDs alleviate RLS? I'm on codeine, but would rather be taking ibuprofen or aspirin if they worked. Alas, they don't. : (

Shingles vaccine
Just seen the BBC news health website. Shingles vaccines being offered to over 65’s ( was 70) and, even better, to vulnerable immune suppressed people over 55 from September 2023.
