Sources of dopamine
My original neuro said there was a choice between natural and synthetic dopamine. The former would give more immediate results where the latter was better over the long term. I've never asked what I'm actually getting. Is it porcine brains. š·

Attention Non-Tremor Dominant subtype, also called Akinetic-Rigid Parkinson
Edited Aug 24: it is very interesting to see the similarities within some of the replies to this post. PLEASE DO SHARE info if you proceed with ft3 testing and/or treatment for thyroid. And if anyone out there has already got some PD relief from thyroid treatment, info would greatly be appreciated

Doctor Buchfuhrer's Augmentation Algorithm
As augmentation due to dopamine agonists is such a strong (and unhappy) topic on this site, due chiefly to pramipexole, and as it has afflicted so many of us, I thought to post a very concise diagram from Doctor Buchfuhrer to help those needing to find a new direction, and who must help their doctors

RLS runs in families?
Hi New to forum At about age of 33 I developed a condition similar to RLS but was more sensory as my trousers would feel damp on my legs. Also lots of crawlies etc but never enough to stop me sleeping thankfully. It's always there though at varying levels. I was taking omeprazole recently and exxaberated

Poorly mind
I wonder if I can offload some of my depressed feelings. Just hopeless. There's too many things, projects that I've started over recent years that I no longer have the capacity for. As soon as I try to do things my arms turn to jelly. I can't finish anything because there's too many ancillary things

Parkinsonās or Hypothyroidism?
First time I post in Thyroid, as I am usually in Parkinsonās Movement Section. I was diagnosed with Parkinsonās Disease in Aug. 2017 at age 55. However, dopamine replacement (levodopa and or mucuna pruriens) seem to worsen my symptoms, especially stiffness. So, not taking any meds for a few months

So I was just recently diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive, aka ADD, i think, which is a lot easier to say. I was very hesitant to have testing done, afraid I would believe any limitations that might be put on me but I ended up feeling a sense of relief, along with grief. I really don't like reading "there's

Augmentation
My withdrawal from DOPAMINE Agonists continues. I was on 6mg but would leave prior days patch on so that increased my dosage. Before that I was on Requip 2 mg twice a day for 2004. I am now down to 2 mg. Had two awful nights in a row. Not going back to three mgs. Being strong. What Iām noticing is that

Genetic testing report posted here.
A lot of people have asked about genectic testing for ADHD. Here's page 2 and link to rest of report is below. no patient data, I had this done for my daughter...well, the doctor did it, and I really wasn't clear on purpose or cost. Anyway, it was about $600, which insurance covered $300. It was

Pregabalin side effects or RLS?
Hello, I am new to this forum but am desperate for some advice and support from people who understand what impact RLS has on your life. Ensure plus - too much protein ?
I have been drinking 3 to 5 Ensuring plus per day. I seem stuffed. Is Eplus interfering with Levodopa \ dopamine and motor function?

Alcohol, PD, and brain cell death
Don't misunderstand my question. I don't want to rehash old questions on these words. Simply, given a case of PD, does FURTHER alcohol consumption (not alcohol abuse!) in an otherwise "healthy" patient cause further brain cell damage piled on top of the dopamine, serotonin, melatonin regulating brain

Can Rytary make your anxiety worse or not work at all? Does anyone else suffer from severe anxiety? Experienced Dystonic type attacks?
I was diagnosed on my 28th BDay as having PD and I will be 45 this year. I used to not question it too much but this past year has been more than difficult and I am having new issues that make me wonder if I have PD or some type of anxiety disorder. It all started with a tremor that started in my right

Augmentation from domaine agnostics
I have been on dopamine agonists for 7 years and NEUPRO for the last 5, starting at 2mg and progressing to 4mg and experienced serious augmentation starting late 2017. I am being treated by a sleep specialist at USF and she has me on a plan to wean off them. I have decreased NEUPRO gradually to 1 mg

Shopping addiction?
Itās been a minute since Iāve made a post on here but I just had an epiphany that I wanted to document and see if anyone has any advice on the matter. I think I may have a bit of a shopping addiction. When I was in high school (Iām a 5th year undergrad college student) I was so good at saving money
