The Brick Wall Divide On RLS Philosophy
When I talk to people around me without RLS about it, I always mention the massive divide between the two camps which based on the number of posters, not number of posts, seems to be around 50/50. This post is inspired by comments about of all things, compression socks. I have used socks, but I prefer

Repurposed antidepressant could be a new treatment for recurrent prostate cancer 6:03 March 3, 2020
This is impressive: "In this study, 11 of 20 participants had a measurable decline in their PSA levels after 12 weeks of twice-a-day treatment, with the greatest decline in PSA being a 74% drop. PSA stands for prostate-specific antigen; it’s a biomarker for prostate cancer circulating in the blood."

Betrayal and the Horrible Pain After
This started out as a response to Manerva regarding the person who is taking gabapentin and this whole vitamin regimen and wearing compression socks (sleeves he calls them) and my thoughts on it but while it started out that way it’s grown so much deeper and morphed into gut wrenching pain and this

Anyone know about this research that warned against taking gabapentin and pregabalin?
I just got off the only dopamine agonist I could even handle, but I didn't have any idea what to turn to, as one dose of gabapentin caused such dizziness that I wouldn't take it again, and Tramadol (pain reliever) caused other problems, so I went off that after two weeks. However, I've been reading in

CBD cream/lotion helped me.
I have had RLS for 50 years; just went off DA and am not going back, but now am floundering and sleep-deprived as I try to find something safer that enables me to sleep. I rubbed CBD cream on my achilles and hamstring tendons 4 times over the night, and it really seemed to reduce the tightness and hence

The most boring disease
Without dopamine, everything seems so terribly BORING! I just can't seem to get excited about anything anymore. End of rant.

Both mucuna and Dopamine Agonists supply dopamine, so why did the DAs work for me (till augmentation) but not mucuna pruriens? Any ideas?
Dopamine agonists supply dopamine--at night, even--but the problem isn't inadequate dopamine, it's inadequate dopamine receptors, right? So then why did the dopamine agonists work for me (till augmentation), and why doesn't mucuna pruriens work for me now that I'm off the DAs? Can't make sense of that

Dopamine questions
My understanding is narcotics give a dopamine release. The stronger the narcotic, the stronger the release. If you have a rash and scratch at it, the body responds with a dopamine release. If you start the day with a cup of coffee there is a dopamine release. [i] I had MRSA. The skin lesions

New molecule shows promise for Parkinson’s treatment.
A new promising study poses a unique Molecule called BT13 that contributes significant improvement of PD . " They found that the molecule — BT13 — was indeed able to boost dopamine in the brains of mice. It also appeared to protect the brain cells tasked with dopamine production from dying off and,

Any info on RLS and Chronic Kidney Disease?
Hello, fellow twitchers. My pertinent PMH: I spent 3 weeks in a coma after I fractured my skull in an MVA 35 years ago. My speech is sometimes slurred and I have impulse control issues. 20 years ago, I donated a kidney to my mom and shortly after that RLS started. A doctor prescribed Levodopa, then Ropinole
