Discectomy

In May of 2019 I had a Lamondectomy, and in 2020 I had a discectomy. In November, 2023 I had a tubular decompressioin. This comming Fall I will be having a spinal fusion.

I had a discectomy surgery in 2016. After the surgery, my back pain got worse and i started having bilateral tingling, pins and needles in both legs this time. I repeated MRI and nothing was seen as the cause of the pins and needles. I was given gabapentine which helped to calm the nerve pain.

I've had Cervical spinal fusion and discectomy, bad COVID, pneumonia, chronic pain and cough, since my diaphragm is numb and I can't breath deeply, I'm now incontinent, because I cannot FEEL my urges till it's too late. I can WALK, I've followed all instructions.

has anyone had a repeat discectomy and had success with nerve pain reduction? also does anyone else have any suggestions to help with pain relief? I’m slowly weaning my morphine down also.

On November 18th I had back surgery, an L3-L4 laminectomy, and an L4-L5 discectomy. Everything went like clockwork for the first two weeks or so, then the incision started to drain.

Had my operation on Wednesday and glad to say that all went well. No complications apart from my blood pressure and oxygen levels in recovery, kept me in there for 6 hours or so. But anyway I’m home now and recovering well. Physio say 3 months recovery and consultant says 7 weeks. I see how I go after

Anyone had a Anterior Cervical Discectomy? Having the operation on 17th November.

• In November 2015, in spite of no symptoms or complaints, I decided to be submitted to an ACDF - Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion surgery to a herniated disc, level C4-C5, with an area of myelomacia (decompressed, but that will stay there forever.

I had a L5/S1 lumber discectomy in 2013. Since that have had constant back pain. Before the operation all pain was in legs . I’m currently waiting for a nerve root block injection. In the last 2 weeks. I have been experiencing considerable pain in my legs.

I’ve had an herniated disc since Christmas L5/S1 and unfortunately have not made much progress. Still in lots of pain etc. The specialist has phoned to say after looking at my MRI it is a large disc that has herniated and after 4 months doesn’t look to be shrinking 🙁 It’s looking like surgery so just

I have a bewildering array of nerve symptoms throughout my whole body following a lumber disc prolapse and subsequent discectomy. I get a range of burning / fizzing / freezing / dagger pains in my feet, lower legs, groin, hands, arms, face, internal mouth, throat and chest.

However since my back ‘lockup’ and subsequent discectomy 6 months ago I have had a bewildering array of what the neurologist calls ‘altered sensations’ mainly in legs but also face and arms . This is fizzing, burning, numbness, cold flushing etc. He has put this all down to rls.

In a recent telephone appointment he indicated that operation not really an option as a discectomy is performed for pain relief and this was not offered during my time of excruciating agony! Anyway this is where I need your input.

Has anyone had this surgery? I’m a potential candidate for this is have large herniated discs in C5-6 & C7-8. My Neurosurgeon said that first option would be a nerve block of pain wasn’t improving (it isn’t) but I feel this would only help pain and wouldn’t sort out the problem itself. I’m a 30 year

I underwent an Anterior Cervical Myelopathy Discectomy (C5-C6) in June this year and my recovery seemed to be going well. Within the last month I have started to experience intense pain in my right wrist so have taken to wearing a wrist brace.

Since had full discectomy L4-L5, with titanium screws and rod. Partial discectomy L3-L4. Condition is spreading up and down. Now have chronic pain L5-S1-S2. Including the usual sciatica that accompanies trapped nerves. Basically, my spine is collapsing, with scoliosis to boot.

I've been to see spinal consultant today and been examined, I need another mri scan to see what is going on.I had lumbar discectomy and facetectomy l5 s1 last October but ive been in constant pain since March.Hopefully I won't wait to long for my mri appointment.
