Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.

Had my operation on Wednesday and glad to say that all went well. No complications apart from my blood pressure and oxygen levels in recovery, kept me in there for 6 hours or so. But anyway I’m home now and recovering well. Physio say 3 months recovery and consultant says 7 weeks.

I see how I go after 4 weeks of the collar and go from there.

Please take care with forsaking the collar, as operating around the Spinal cord could cause you real problems and the collar is to support the area until it all heals. Please wait until you get the OK from your surgeon.

Cheers, Midori
