Email From Dr. Costantini June 14, 2018
Dr. Costantini sent this yesterday regarding Levodopa and Thiamine and their synergy together, but it was not translated correctly so I sent it back to him and he corrected it. This is his revised version: Dear Art, The doses of levodopa taken by the patients who write to me are very low. This (I think

Sleep, Anyone? Anyone?
Have any of you suffered from hyper insomnia, then changed meds and had some good sleep at last? At very long last? I am still on a small-ish dose of pramipexole, ready to wean with the help of methadone. Benzos make no difference to sleep, sadly. Nor do all the whacked out remedies, magnesium and

Dr Klinghardt protocol for PD
I went to a Doctor in Germany who was trained by Dr Klinghart and she suggested a protocol that involves removal of teeth root canals and replacement with ceramic implants as well as detoxing. "Toxins from amalgam, metals, chronic stress and endodontically treated teeth damage the dopamine receptors

New to group....need advice
Hi, I am new to this site. I just want to thank everyone for sharing their experiences, I don't know anyone who suffers from RLS like I do, so its nice to know there are others that understand. I have had RLS since I was 13 in my legs and left arm. I had huge battles with my GP throughout my childhood

CBD--questions about Thiamine/B1 & Levodopa. . and what we could try?
Have any of you heard of the high-dose B-1/Thiamine treatment that people are talking about on the Parkinson's Board--there's a mention that the doctor directing it, Dr. Constantini in Italy has an even higher-dose protocol for treating CBD (scroll down--if my link works!--to #30). https://healthunlocked.com

Thiamine and cycles and rhythms
Some connection here as well. Still researching. Unfortunately biorhythms are associated with astrology and the science tends to be limited to sleep wake cycle and menstrual cycles. Dopamine has a circadian rhythm

Question on Absorption, Dose Increase, and Zoloft interaction. Doctor taking too much time!
Hi. Just wanted to start off by saying that I've been going through many older posts on this forum. It has been a great learning experience. While I joined two years ago I was on and off here but with the slowly lifting fog I'd like to move forward with the proper guidance. This community has been so

Dr. Contantini suggestions for my Thiamine Intake.
Background: I started the thiamine program without asking my Neuro, not knowing that it should be taken on an empty stomach, that half the dose should be taken before breakfast and another half dose just before lunch. how much to take and without fully understanding what the outcomes might be. Dopamine Agonist doses - the new maximum
From Buchfuhrer, Mark J., Strategies for the Treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome; Neurotherapeutics (2012) 9:776-790 Both of these drugs should be started at their lowest dose (ropinirole at 0.25 mg and pramipexole at 0.125 mg) and increased if necessary every 5 to 7 days by their initial dose until

Thiamine and Dr Costantini, what we know and don't know
Sorry this is so long, it is meant to be a summary, but there’s a lot to say. There is now a wealth of information on the discovery by the Italian neurologist Dr Antonio Costantini that high dose Thiamine can be used to treat a range of neurological diseases including Parkinson’s disease. In Dr Costantini

About two months back I started my dad on a low dose of mucuna, but saw no improvement so about a month and a half he went onto co-beneldopa (madopar) In that time, he hasn't really improved. Still bent, head down, shuffles, lack of energy, says his muscles ache still, still hand and jaw tremour. The

Alpha Synuclein: New Species is discovered called Pa-syn - could it be the cause of cell death in PD?
OK, Here's my (simplistic) take away: 1. PD is caused by lack of dopamine. In PD brain autopsies, we often see Lewy bodies. 2. Lewy bodies are at least largely made up of protein, but a misfolded protein, called alpha synuclein (ASN). Because it is misfolded, it does not transfer signals between neurons

What my emotions did to me last night.
Last night things went bad with my grandson. It is 17 and struggling with his identity. He has been wearing makeup among a few other things that his mom does not agree with. She at first just ask him to wait till he was out on his own to start doing the things she does not approve of. He has refused
