Q&A: INDUCED PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS (ISPCs) FOR PD
Thanks for sharing . however the availability this therapy to the people is still a far away dream
If you consider the fact that the best treatment we currently have (after two centuries) remains primarily levodopa, clinical trials scheduled to take place within "the next couple of years" [vdo minute 3:30] is hardly "far away". Successful animal studies have been completed. Early phase trials on the first 10 human subjects are scheduled for 2019. Newsletter: summitforstemcell.org/parki...
Thanks , I thinks the clinical trials processing time need to be optimized. The reason is that the neurological disease are spreading at rapid pace and it is estimated that by 2025 the number of PD patients will be doubled. The method of culturing the pluripotent cells described in the video (from skin ) is already being used by a German company which I had contacted but they charge around hundred and fifty thousands USD. There is another trial going on called hpnsc cells (by international stem cell Corp ) which is in phase2. There are other trials in Japan and China. Hope to see something in the next couple of years
