RLS or Akathisia or both?
Wow! I just wrote a bunch of stuff but it disappeared. That's my luck with computers. I'll try again. I was diagnosed as having RLS in December '21 but now I think I have akathisia. My neurologist doesn't think so. He says akathisia is rare. I didn't know anything about akathisia until about three

Dopamine agonists and dystonia
Hello everyone, A few years ago I was diagnosed with YOPD and I'm still trying to make sense of my symptoms. I was wondering if anyone has experienced Dopamine Agonists - induced dystonia, is there such a thing at all? Thank you in advance for your comments.

Brain Rewired after Dopamine Agonist-induced Augmentation
Hi, All. There have been a few recent comments by others suggesting that, following their discontinuance of an RLS medication, their RLS symptoms lessened or, in some instances, disappeared. Some comments concerned "patches," and some concerned tablets or capsules. Not all concerned dopamine agonists

Magnesium in Parkinson’s disease: an update in clinical and basic aspects
Parkinson's has a long presymptomatic period, it's caused for the newborn, from magnesium deficiency during pregnancy & nursing which makes it so fewer dopamine nerves are created. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK507269/#_NBK507269_pubdet_

Your 'teeth and gums' could be CAUSING your PD!
Even though I had the last of my mercury fillings removed a few months ago... and a root canal on another tooth... I know I need additional dental work that I've been putting off... until I read this:

Restless Leg Syndrome RLS long-term use dopamine agonists results in much worse RLS than before treatment, referred to as RLS augmentation.
I believe RASAGALINE Azilect has given me restless leg syndrome. Has anyone else had this experience? What I have read from various sources is that dopamine agonists are a short term fix for RLS but can make it much worse long term. RLS is associated with low iron and iron supplementation is therefore

Horizant Cost for Those In US
HI, All. Forgive me if this already was covered elsewhere. Briefly, I was prescribed Horizant. At the time of the Rx, the "sleep expert" neurologist noted that it was very expensive and likely not covered by health insurance. The cost of a 30 day supply at my local pharmacy was $450, none of which

Berberine & gut microbes that increase L-Dopa (contains good explanation of sequence leading to dopamine production)
“ They started testing the effects of berberine and l-dopa/dopamine-producing gut bacteria in a mouse model of Parkinson’s. They discovered that treating animals with berberine, or transplanting E. faecalis and E. faecium into their gastrointestinal tract could improve both their behavior and brain function

Pramipexole vacations
I am currently completely off Pramipexole for 7 months, after being on it for 6 years. It was the only medication that gave me excellent relief and no side effects, except one sudden episode of augmentation . All the augmentation symptoms have resolved, but the symptoms of course are daily and last

Decreasing dopamine treatment levels In late stage Parkinson’s disease.
I am questioning the neurological position that decreasing dopamine treatments is a proper method for a patient exhibiting a deteriorating clinical picture.

pramipexole (containing Dopamine), can it contribute to heart regurgitation?
I recently had an echocardiogram after chest x-ray for breathlessness and it was thought to show an enlarged heart , but later found it wasn’t, hence the ecg. It has shown that I have some regurgitation which GP said nothing to worry about but I have read that Dopamine can be a cause of this. Can anyone

I'm new here. Turning 42 years old next year. Just want to get a better life for my 2 kids. Have ADHD.
Currently living in Utah. Just recently got diagnosed with ADHD and medicated for it. The doctor gave me 10mg of the generic Adderall and it's the short-term release one. It's just once a day too. I do not feel anything different. Feel less anxious. Not only do I have ADHD but also have a mild case of
