On/Off period caused by Sinemet. Anyone taking dopamine agonist and/or MAO inhibitors experience on/offs?
I found in the web an interesting info about a disclaimer contained in the package insert of Sinemet distributed in Australia. It warns as a “side effect the on/off periods may occur to some people after one year use where people may lose their ability to move from minutes to hours then can move again

Dopamine agonist withdrawal
Hello to all, I am looking for advice, support and somewhere to whine. I wrote before as I have got off a daily dose of SR pramipexole .75 mg and 1 tab sinemet 100/25. I took 6 weeks to do it . My dr wanted me to do it more quickly but I did not, having struggled through the whole misery once before

Bacteria in the brain

Thumbs up for Nilotinib - Phase II Trials
Those of you who are following clinical trials for repurposed drugs that offer potential to slow or halt the progression of PD will no doubt recall the highly favorable reports from the Phase I trial of Nilotinib that was done at Georgetown University and was reported on in October of 2015. Parkinson’s PD switched to Functional Tremor FND
I’m a 49 year old man and 1 year ago, in 2018, I noticed a slight dominant-side resting tremor, arm and leg. It consistently got worse over 4 months, until I was diagnosed with Parkinson's by a movement specialist neurologist. Started carbi/levadopa to no effect. (Also tried a dozen different supplements

DAT scan
My husband was diagnosed years ago but has had a change of Neurologist and the new one wants a DAT scan done. It is to see how much dopamine there is in the brain. Has anyone else had this done ?? She couldn’t say if the findings would help so he is sceptical about having it done.

Sifrol hell
Hi, I am a 57yo lady. Maybe mid 2018 I was prescribed Sifrol aka Pramipexole, Mirapex etc to combat RSL whilst withdrawing from Slow Release Tramadol used for about 16 years for Fibromyalgia. I had NO idea at the time this drug SIFROL is harder to get off than opiates...unless you use opiate meds
