THIAMINE, another view
Let me start by saying I really, really, hope that Thiamine does all it is claimed to do. My credentials for giving an opinion are, I qualified in medicine 60 years ago, so I saw what dopamine could do when it was first introduced. Secondly I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a year ago at age 83, so I

Exercise and levadopa
Does anyone take extra medication before or after they exercise? Does exercise ‘ use up ‘ dopamine more quickly ? My husband uses the gym , plays golf and runs but lately he is experiencing extreme sudden ‘ off periods ‘ I wondered if it was the exercise using up the dopamine? ☹️

Hi! I’m 66, probably had PD for 50 years, diagnosed 7 years ago. I’m using KETO diet to fix PD - 3 days into ZERO meds, feeling pretty good
I had several symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease as a teenager, but played Squash and later Racketball all my life and didn’t get the tremor until 2009. Took 2 years to get the dreaded diagnosis and then took increasing doses of Ropinirole and Sinemet as prescribed by the neurologist. Basically I ignored

Aldehydes and thiamine and Candida
Are aldehydes depleting your b1? An interesting theory: http://www.outthinkingparkinsons.com/articles/dopamine-aldehyde http://drhoustonanderson.com/sensitive-noses-aldehyde-sniff-test/ Candida produces aldehydes, and Candida overgrowth can be caused by steroid injections for hayfever, asthma inhalers

Quitting Sinemet
I've got a question but the question will come at the end of a long preface. So I hope you have the attention to read my story. Apologies in advance for the long read. I've been taking Sinemet for almost 15 years. I have had a pretty decent experience with it but in large part I think that is because

I don't know why i can't find your posts when you reply to me. My husband's neurologist lectures him constantly about taking too much dopamine. Low Dose Naltrexone
Well, of course, I had to google it, to find out what on earth was going on here. www.ldnscience.org/resources/interviews/interview-mark-shukhman This leads you to just one of the many interviews on this strange cure-all. This particular interview is of interest because it addresses ICDs, which may help

give it a try
I am fairly new to this post and I find it heartbreaking to read these letters. I understand what it is like to suffer from this horrible disorder. I had 8-9 years of utter misery. One of the many, many drugs I had which actually helped was Neupro, which was the 3rd dopamine I had tried. I was on

Supplement breakthrough but now what??
Hi everyone. Fairly new to the site. I have had RLS for about 12 years now. It has been well controlled through Mirapex/Ropinirole but a couple of months ago it seemed to not be working as well. Started feeling symptoms in my arms and onset was earlier in the day. Even would wake up some days with symptoms

Thank you to y’all here!
I can’t thank you, the members of this community, enough for helping me address the symptoms of PD. I was diagnosed in 2015 but had left hand tremor for two years prior and a gradual loss of smell since around 2003. Yes I know that PD is progressive and incurable. So is the aging process; I am 71 after

Dopamine Scan
Good grief......I'm under a neurologist for chronic daily migraine (diagnosed 2 months ago) and following my latest Neuro. exam, my Consultant has decided to schedule a SPECT DAT scan to measure dopamine levels in the brain. Now I must admit that my anxiety is REALLY high over this one. I've had a lot

New study; "...52% of people who had ever taken dopamine agonists developed an impulse control disorder..." 6/21/18 journal Neurology
"Many Parkinson’s drugs — particularly dopamine agonists and, in some cases, levodopa — have been linked to these types of behaviour. Recent studies have suggested there may be a difference in the type of dopamine agonist used, with slow release tablets causing impulsive behaviours less frequently, and

Confused about methods to create dopamine in pwp
If the part of our brain that creates dopamine is damaged, if we exercise does our brain create more dopamine? Or is it just helping my body use what I have better??

Dopamine Neuron Implants Ease Parkinson’s Symptoms
Researchers in China have taken cell therapy for Parkinson’s disease one step further. In research published in Stem Cell Reports on June 14, scientists report improvements in the motor abilities of monkeys with Parkinsonian symptoms after grafting dopamine neurons derived from embryonic stem cells (

Who's Smarter? Your gut or your brain?
I used a supplement which was helpful so I found the doctor on you tube and listened to him answer questions regarding gut health and the microbiome. It's a bit scientific but the explanations are clear. Glyphosate (Agent Orange, Round Up) is an antibiotic which kills that which helps our gut provide
