Oxygen is freely available in air and is vital for burning your fuel ( food you eat). Without food one can survive for days, months and even years....but one can not survive without oxygen... At best yes we can survive one or two minutes without oxygen.. not more than that .. Covid19 is killing us only by creating difficulties for us to breathe, blocking our capacity to breathe the freely available oxygen.
we human beings donot know how to breathe, strengthen our respiratory system , enhance our immunity ....
Deep breathing exercises can strengthen our lungs , our respiratory system and enhance our immunity which can be achieved by simply sitting on a yoga mat or even on a chair. This sounds good if it helps your overall well being and helps in controlling your diabetic condition.
You may be aware of Anulom Vilom, which is an alternate nostril breathing.
