GREEN FLAXSEED BREAD
(Makes a 900g loaf – 10-12 slices) Flaxseed gives this loaf a delicious, nutty flavour. Not only that, it is also rich in omega 3 and fibre, which your biome and your bowels will enjoy. 80g ground almonds 200g ground flaxseed 50g chia seeds 50g pumpkin seeds 4 eggs 200g fresh (or defrosted frozen

A breakthrough-like effect of metformin reduces peripheral resistance to triiodothyronine in euthyroid, non-insulin-resistant, T2 diabetes
My main aim here is to identify to anyone interested that metformin appears to have an impact of T3 levels. Whether the hypotheses of the paper make any sense of that observation is, I fear, rather more questionable. (Though I accept is was very much acknowledged to be a pilot study.) [i]

Blood sugar & cholesterol up despite following pre-diabetes advice.
My blood sugar has gone up - I’ve cut out refined sugars, reduced carbs. I’ve lost about 10kg and reduced my body fat. My cholesterol has also gone up. I have an under active thyroid and in menopause, too. I run, teach and train hit and use weights. I’ve read that everything I am doing - plus my conditions

'Fast carbs' DON'T make you fat!
"The study concluded that the myth that 'fast carbs make you fat' is just that - a myth. " May be we all need to look at fast carb, slow carb and understand the benefits and difference. " ('Fast carbs' DON'T make you fat! High-GI foods like white bread are no more likely to cause weight gain than low-GI

Low Carb Diet for Diabetics
How many of you are following a low carb diet and exactly what do you mean by going low carb? Is it safe for Diabetics on a long term basis?

Does NDT have a diuretic effect that levothyroxine doesn´t?
I have read several posts by people who switched from levo to NDT and lost quite a lot of water weight in the first few days/weeks...someone compared it to taking a diuretic drug. I have read in the past that some of the weight gain in hypothyroidism is water weight and not fat, and that fluid retention

Hello there! Would appreciate input..Hello there! Would appreciate input..
I'm brand new to this site. Really happy that I stumbled upon it during a search for, "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome relationship to Lupron." Not a lot of into on the subject so far. I was wondering if any of the folks on this site may have encountered this so-called rare side effect? If so, what was done

Partner Hospitalized
My partner went into the hospital 2 days ago because s he was having a hard time breathing. On admission, they found fluid around the lungs. They have been giving her diuretic IV. I just spoke with her nurse he said there was still fluid around the lungs they are giving her an x-ray tomorrow to see if

Scared to start Leflunomide
Is anyone on or taking Leflunomide? My rheumatologist has been advocating for it for over a year and given my Lupus raging worse than ever - it’s out of control- he wants me to go on it. I’m on Stelara but the COVID vaccine rendered it basically useless. And I don’t have another shot for 2 months. So

Low Carb Diet makes a difference?
Does a low carb diet really help? After 5 years of PMR, down to 8 mg daily pred and overweight, I'm ready to try cutting carbs. What has been anybody's diet experience with meat, beans and green veggies with no potatoes, rice, pasta or sweets?

New and confused
I was diagnosed with kidney disease 2 years ago. Now I’m told only 15% of my kidneys are working and I only found that out by calling and asking the gal who answered the phone. No bedside manner from dr. Also I live in a rural area and don’t have many specialists around. It already rakes an hour

Sotalol experience
I was prescribed Sotalol 80 mg to take twice a day. Need some advice....whats the best way to take it in the morning...before breakfast or after? I like a cup of decaf coffee in the morning any advice. Still nervous about the whole afib thing. Would appreciate if I hear some individual experiences.

Ear neuropathy…?
Hi, everyone — I’ve written here about my experience of peripheral neuropathy in my left big toe as a result of B12 deficiency, which has definitely improved with treatment (although it hasn’t quite vanished). Today, though, presented something completely new and unexpected: a sharp, stabbing pain
