Has anyone had experience of having Active b12/MMA test after taking antibiotics please?
Hi, apologies if you've read this on Thyroid site, typed it in earlier thinking I was on B 12 site, so here goes again! I've just finished taking a week of Amoxicillin, which didn't work, then Co-amoxiclav 500mg/125 mg for a week for recurring sinus and inner ear infections. I've just been given a referral

100% g/f w/f
Hi is there anyone out there that can let me know if they find it impossible to be 100% g/f w/f without having to just make do with meat potatoes and veg or salad all the time as I am still suffering all the symptoms just a slight improvement because I,ve been having products with the coeliac safe limit

B12 and Sugar
I was wondering if anyone who has been injecting B12 has run into any issues with blood sugar. My fasting glucose has always been normal but recently it has spiked to 112. I just had a hemoglobin a1c which came back high at 6.1 (reference range is topped at 5.7). After doing some reading it appears that

Help please for results?
Hello there! :) I'm trying to check into a possible thyroid condition, in which I've suffered different symptoms for about the last 6 years now, and they seem to have been getting worse. My GP advised the results are normal, although I'm keen to keep investigating, as I'm aware now that this isn't

Alcohol, sugar, and tremors
I recently asked if anyone else had noticed alcohol reduced tremors, and 3 others said yes (rhyspeace, becky, rons). Has anyone else noticed this effect? Has anyone else tried to check it and noticed that it did NOT have an effect? I tried testing with glucose, but the effect did not seem as strong

Dose 1 onboard, once a week from now on, then in 3 weeks first reduction in pred, then onward. See my new primary care tomorrow with loads of questions from my visit at the Rheumy. In reviewing my labs since June, it looks like my white cell count spikes every time I've been below 40mg. So we're discussing

Ok confused!
Just noticed my hair and eyelashes are falling out/thinning! Brief history: total thyroidectomy due to papillary carcinoma in 2002. Been ok on t4 although took ages to get dosage right over the years. Have always felt better when I was 'over medicated' according to test results. Since having a baby

Thyroid scan normal?
My doctor suspected that I have hypothyroidism, or some other problem with my thyroid. I had an extensive thyroid panel done and the results were basically normal. He still suspected that there was a problem with my thyroid so I had a thyroid scan where I ingested radioactive iodine and then they looked

Just received my latest blood work. I had surgery for thyroid cancer in June 2015. I still have 1/4 of my thyroid left and I am 75 years old. I am pre-diabetic. TSH is 5.50. (0.40-4.50) T3 uptake is 30. (22-35) T4 (thyroxine) is 8.9. (4.5-12.0) (mcg/dl) Free T4 index (t7) is 2.7. (1.4-3.8) Glucose

Sugar & alcohol reduce tremors? Undiagnosed diabetes?
Has anyone noticed their resting tremor reduces with a good dose of sugar or alcohol? Like a soda (11 teaspoons of sugar) or a full beer (4 teaspoons of alcohol). The idea is that cells which are not able to produce much energy from compromised mitochondria can function better on a sugar or alcohol
