Has anyone gained weight on hydrocortisone?!
Or is it common? I can only find signs for cushings online but wondered if it will still a side effect of taking it. Anyone? I am a slim size 10, but I’m definitelt fuller recently..

Vegans save the planet (possibly)
Jerry raised an important point the other day concerning human health and the health of the planet. While it’s fashionable these days to tout meat-free diets as a cure for global warming (I think Angela Merkel was the latest to make a statement along those lines) it’s not really that simple. Some facts

When is enough enough?
I'm facing a difficult decision. My PSA (620+) continues to rise and bone scans continue to show growth on my spine and ribs despite efforts with all mainstream treatments. It's been suggested by my MO that "we need to get you into a clinical trial while you still look good" meaning while I'm relatively

LCHF could be a boon for Diabetes if practised scientifically, but beginners may face a challenge if he is a vegetarian !
As a T2, You feel great with LCHF diet - thanks to this forum, you keep getting tips from the veterans to overcome the initial hurdles. It is a science - now getting recognised all over as a solution for obesity and diabetes. Once you undetstand the science and practice LCHF, you don't feel like

Hi. I started my adventure a year ago today, 8/31/2017. I guess it's time to say hello. I'll throw down my numbers. Maybe it will make some of you feel better about your numbers. Last summer I started to have some old-man urinary symptoms. I was 51, so they seemed par for the course. I was feeling a

Raynaud’s Disease and Keto Diet update
I’ve been experimenting with deliberately challenging myself with low temperatures . This morning I walked 10 minutes to the local shop for some eggs, wearing short sleeves and no hat (and no hair!) in 11C. The walk back was COLD as I got soaked by steady rain with a temperature of probably 5C or less

We as caregivers are at increased risk for mental health and physical health problems
Today I read about this study in the UK: https://www.medpagetoday.com/psychiatry/anxietystress/74764 Unsurprisingly to me as a caregiver for someone living with melanoma, the results indicated that when caring for someone who is terminally ill with cancer, they were surprised at the sheer scale of the

Hypothyroid - best set of blood tests to get
I am hypothyroid and am currently on Slow Release T3. It seems I can't tolerate too much T3 and at lower levels I experience a lot of hypo symptoms. I am also supplementing with Fludrocortisone to increase my aldestorone levels and some hydrocortisone to try to have more T3 enter my cells. I have tested

Trouble adjusting.
After having a renal transplant 23 years ago my precious kidney has stopped working. I now find my self back on dialysis. I thought medical science would have made progress in 23 years. It still breaks down to you and that ungodly machine. Don't get me wrong I am happy to have this lifesaving option

Prednisolone diary 13 - what do I know?
Entry 12 was written a week after going up to 24mg of methyl prednisolone. It left me feeling much improved in mood and energy levels, and optimistic that we had found a solution to my 3 year history of increasing fatigue, incapacity and daily flushes and shaking. Perhaps, I thought, those symptoms were
