Flying
Can my husband be refused boarding an aircraft after having craniotomy over 5Years ago following bleed to brain. Doctor says it is ok for my husband to fly but as he has not had skull replaced it may be best to check with caa. Don't know how to contact them. Have looked on website but found no info

Greetings Headcases or is that just me
Hello, It has been 21 weeks since I underwent a craniotomy for the third time. I was really lucky as I got over it quite quickly. The surgical team were very good apart from when I had the drain removed at 11.30pm. The doctor warned me that it was going to hurt and boy he was not wrong. Bless him

Titanium Cranioplasty - 2 years ago toxicity?
Hello all, A little background - I had a craniotomy after I fell 30-40 feet in the Black Hills in South Dakota on a bicycling trip. I needed a craniotomy to allow room for my brain to swell at the time. I am perfectly fine now - no memory issues, everything is fine cognitively. I can walk, run, bike

SAH & BLEED INTO SPINE
Hello campers! I saw a neurosurgeon last week who knew about my case for first time last week and she explained everything about 'my' SAH and a bleed into the spine. The presence of the blood aggravated/inflamed the spine, resulting in pain, sensations that keep you up at night...a bit like restless

Had appointment yesterday treat or not?
Hi all Had my cerebral angiogram yesterday in Leeds. Great team and really put me at ease. Wasn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be. Confirmed that my aneurysm was in an awkward position. A carotid cavernous aneurysm at the base of my brain, behind the right eye, so ruled out craniotomy as

Cancer was a cake walk
I have been in treatment for depression since I was 18. Thirty years later I am still going. It has been hell. I would not want my worst enemy to go through my struggle, however it has shown me the best of people and the worst of them. I could not continue moving forward without all of their challenges

How long do it take regain strength on a weak arm (no movement)?
My husband Randy was shot in the head on New Years Eve 12/31/16 after someone robbed him for his wallet. He can't move his leg arm and it's been 4 months already. He also had a Craniotomy and he's going to have his skull put back in on Monday. I wonder if that would help.

Thanks for reading my message, sorry I've not replied to anyone so I'm writing a new post, I forget then don't know what to write, I think I'm just over 6 years since my accident and I got craniotomy and back of skull removed to get rid of a blood clot, first day I remembered was the day I got discharged

NHS just admitted it is unable to sort as is too complicated
My daughter saw her Endo/Doc yesterday who was perturbed by the latest results. She had been on 10mcg of T3 only for 2 weeks and then on 20mcg of T3 for 2 weeks but had awful headaches, fatigue & swollen, so cut back to 10mcg. Her results yesterday were: TSH .98 (.27-4.20), T4 7.6 (12.0-22.0), T3 4.6

Does Levothyroxine have any effect on the liver?
I'm afraid my case isn't completely straightforward, and this is a really long post, but I'd love some advice from anybody out there on where to go next. I had a craniotomy for colloid cyst with obstructive hydrocephalus in July 2014. It was a success, but since then I have been uncomfortably swollen

Tertiary hypothyroidism suspected after a craniotomy for a colloid cyst on the third ventricle
I have a daughter who had a craniotomy for a colloid cyst in her brain two years ago, and since then has had health problems like weight gain, swelling, constipation, sore legs, fatigue etc. We think it is tertiary hypothyroidism, and the endos are putting her on thyroxine. Has anyone else had similar

Hello, everyone, I'm new to this community and glad that I found out about it. I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in 2003, but it metastasized in 2007. How do you separate the physical healing process of a head injury from the effect that stress and lost sleep are having on you.
I had a craniotomy to remove a cyst in January and I struggle with fatigue and headaches and live in a shadow of my preoperative state. Because of the operation and recovery being slow I have had a lot of time off work though I have returned now on a phased return. Fatigue is my biggest problem and keeps

Curious about how fatigue comes on
I think the most frustrating part of recovering from my craniotomy to remove a cyst which was back in January, is the lack of control or warning I get with regard to fatigue. On days when I feel rested I get tempted to go for long walks in the countryside as I get bored being cooped up in the house,
