Conundrum Gastrin
Hi everyone, does anyone have advice when trying to increase weight when diagnosed with Intestinal Metaplasia and Hyperplasia. I have been doing some research regarding the damage that Gastrin can do when it doesn't switch off (NET's tumours) because of low stomach acid and as the Gastrin is activated

Fenofibrates
Someone asked if Dr. Jones' book mentioned the use of fenofibrates.... yes, it does in several places. This might be a good book to have if you are considering using them. He is the leading expert on PBC. Hope it helps... The subject is discussed in the chapter for 'Treatment of PBC'. Many have been

pre-DBS Assessment advice please
Got the invitation from Bristol for the pre-
DBS
assessment at the end of July. I’m very apprehensive as I know that a key feature is the withdrawal of CL for an extended period. The thought of this freaks me out.

mum is on large doses of lactulose and diuretics and has been feeling very unwell all day. She hasn’t been able to open her Bowles at all, and seems very confused. is this an A&E job?

In defence of meds!
As part of my pre-
DBS
suitability trial, I had to have no Madopar for 16 hours. The discomfort of life denied Levadopa is hard to describe: I became totally rigid and severe dystonia was expressed in my neck, back, feet and this graduated to eye lids clenching and teeth grinding.

chatGPT's opinion on PD - Simple and wise
For example, deep brain stimulation (
DBS
) involves implanting electrodes into specific areas of the brain to help regulate movement.

Personal Sleep PR
This is the first time I have passed 8 hours of sleep in the almost 8 years of keeping track. I usually score 80 or 81. 89 is an all time record for me. So what happened. First off, I could feel my RLS earlier in the evening. Little things were beginning to trigger my RLS, nothing strong but

PREPARING FOR DBS SURGERY. VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE INEVITABLE SIDE EFFECTS.
Hi every Parkies on this forum. If you are a PIGD non tremor dominant, young onset PD person, and have done Deep brain stimulation, please respond to my questions, How was your experience with the Neuropsychologist? What was the computer test like? Please share the negatives, if any post surgery.

Continuous Electrical Neuromodulation of the Globus Pallidus Intern in Parkinson's Disease by the Directional Electrode
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05626608 The hypothesis is that the efficacy of
DBS
in directional mode will be more effective on the motor signs of Parkinson's disease compared to omnidirectional stimulation and bipolar mode, with a better tolerance profile (fewer side effects).

All MDD Patients There Is HOPE: Watch this
I have been through it all with MDD. I can relate to every post in here. I was treatment resistant for a decade. I got Deep brain stimulation surgery last year and am in remission from depression. I would guess it’s FDA approved within a couple of years. The options now if nothing works is to suffer
