I haven’t posted in a while, but wanted everyone to know I had my DBS surgery .
It was a lot all at once but so far with the programming everything is going well. Definitely taking less meds.

Gralise/ gabapentin will cause augmentation?
I have had RLS since I was a child and is has periodically made my life unbearable. After having been through augmentation many times, I was assured this was a good option. I am on 1800 mg daily and it works fairly well (RLS 75% improved) though I was successfully on Neurontin, also gabapentin, for

Approved: FDA Expands Exablate Neuro’s Use as Motor Symptom Treatment in Parkinson’s disease (focused ultrasound)
Most importantly, Exablate Neuro requires no surgical incisions, anesthesia, or brain implants, as in the case of deep brain stimulation (
DBS
), so it is expected to carry a lower risk for infections.

is a surgical procedure that eases motor symptoms.

Focused ultrasound
I hear so much about PD patients receiving
DBS
, but I never hear about them opting for focussed ultrasound instead.

Trial treatment using deep brain stimulation provides hope for patients with severe anorexia nervosa
Interesting how this technology is being used in so many disorders other than PD. This might develop the technology more and make it more effective and affordable. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-12-30/qld-anorexia-nervosa-trial-treatment-deep-brain-stimulation/100725286

AMANTADINE FOR DYSKINESIA. HAVE YOU AN EXPERIENCE WITH THIS DRUG? PLEASE HELP.
Any alternative idea to counter dyskinesia or prevent it, apart from
DBS
would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Luckily we live in Canada where
DBS
