I am anemic so am prescribed iron pills. The trouble is they give me constipation. My gp was asked to change to a different pill but are mucking about and not doing it. I switched the radio on last night and there was a discussion on Inside Health (I think). They said there is no scientific basis to

Hey guys Follow up to my previous post regarding T3/stopping Levo rtf I have FINALLY received results from my blood tests. The results were alot scarier than I thought they would be. Iron test confusion
I am trying to understand the logic behind iron blood tests. And need some help. My results are: Serum iron level: 16 ( 9 - 30 umol/L) Serum transferrin: 28 ( 25 - 45 umol/L) Transferrin saturation index: 0.29 (0.0 - 0.45) Ferritine: 63 (15 - 150 ug/L) I've read multiple times that to find out Transferrin

Iron stores while taking b12.
Curious to know how many take iron with b12. I had major symptoms before any anemia showed up. However, my ferritin level was low end normal. My folate seems to stay at a decent level but thinking I might start taking a low dose daily. Sometimes it seems like my injections don't do much of anything

Does anyone get iron supplements on prescription?
I was prescribed a couple of boxes but they have run out now. I am going to ask to be retested to see if my stored iron is any better. What figure is a good one to aim for for someone with Hashimotos on Levothyroxine. Thanks in advance for your reply’s.

Timing of tests - Iron, B12 and Folate
Hi I've bought this test from Medichecks. Does it matter what time of the day I do the blood test? And should it be a fasting test? Thank-you
