Champix
Has anybody used Champix to stop smoking ? I am thinking about giving it a go but I've heard it can have some serious side effects, if so do these side effects go in time ?

I'm back :)
Hi everyone :) Hope everyone is keeping well and of course smoke free :). I've been following the dreadful situation with flooding in the UK and I hope that everyone is keeping high and dry! It's still warm and sunny here in tasmania as we move towards autumn. Well I'm pleased to say that I have

My craving monster is throwing a major tantrum.....
I see the craving as a naughty child and right now it's throwing a paddy from hell... Throwing itself on the floor with legs and arms flailing, and screaming until I give in :( .... Luckily I keep putting it on the naughty step, but I feel it brewing in my tummy for some reason! I am surprised as I

Is there an easier way to get Champix from the NHS than having to go through my registered GP?
I cannot always get time to visit my GP or stop smoking clinic at my GP's surgery. I had stopped previously with Champix and found it the best way for me to stop, I only had 4 weeks worth but this stopped me for almost 4 months, until the cravings returned just as strong as they were before... Patches

Is it ok for Champix AND an inhalator?
I (stupidly) didn't quit when I should while using the champix. I'm now on day 18 of the pack, quit at 5pm yesterday, but using the inhalator when I feel desperate. Is it ok to use both together? Or should I knock one of them on the head?

Day 4 of Champix
Hi everyone just thought I'd get into the swing of all this. I'm 50 years old and have smoked 90% of the last 35 years. I have 'quit' several times but never successfully (well that's pretty obvious -duh). The thing is.....I don't even really enjoy smoking! A lot of my smoking is out of pure habit

Hi, I started taking Champix 4 weeks ago and had my last ciggy 2 and a half weeks ago. I have had to stop taking the Champix though.
Last weekend I couldn't get out of bed as I had extreme dizziness. I stopped the Champix 5 days ago but I still have dizziness although not as bad. Is this normal?

Allen Carr, Champix and E-cigs!
Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice. I read Allen Carr's book yesterday (after taking my first 0.25 champix) and was so impressed, I threw my cigs away and felt very positive. So far i've made it 25 hours but my resolve is really weakening.. I wonder whether I may have acted hastily and waited

Daily chat Friday25th October
Good morning everyone, I found this picture last night, apologies for the grainy quality, but it really struck a chord for all the things we talk about when trying to stop smoking. Yes there are things to help you along the way like NRT and Champix but even with those products we have to have the will

It has all come at once!
Well 8 months ago I didn't even take a paracetamol unless I was in absolute agony, now I am on seretide, spiriva, ventolin, low dose aspirin, cholesterol tablets and champix! What a difference in such a short space of time. Also found calcification on my diaphram from asbestos exposure, nothing they
