Untreated sleep apnea is associated with flu hospitalization.
Results of the retrospective study show that 61% of patients (17 of 28) who either weren’t prescribed
CPAP
to treat their sleep apnea or weren’t adherent to their
CPAP
treatment were hospitalized with the flu, compared with 24% of patients (6 of 25) who were adherent to
CPAP
therapy.

Hashimotos, new to taking meds, helpless jitters, indecision with no direction here
I couldn't handle
CPAP
last APRIL/ May. (Did a sleep study that said I had mild sleep apnea. I fall sleep on right side with small dose mirtazapine now, breathe only thru nose, not mouth now, so if stuffy nose, I don't sleep. I felt all these symptoms are thyroid related, hypo.

ICU agitation and fluctuations in settings. Anyone else going or have gone through this?
The oxygen levels were lowered gradually over the course of 2 weeks and they then lowered his sedation slightly which started his own breathing and he was eventually down to
CPAP
mode on the ventilator with ASB (Assisted Spontaneous Breathing, I believe) where he breathes and the machine gives a little

COVID x STROKE
He is awake but is on a ventilator alternating with
CPAP
via a tracheostomy. He can’t speak because of the tracheostomy and has no movement at all in his right side. We obviously haven’t even able to visit him because if Covid and he is now refusing FaceTime visits.

Well that was a weird week and a long post, sorry
Last Monday 23rd November i woke up took off my
cpap
and got out of bed with excruciating pain in my shoulder, it had been aching due to redecorating so we could have space to work from home so i thought it related and took painkillers.

What are Tocilizumab and Sarilumab treatments for COVID?
The REMPA-
CPAP
Clinical trial results show that the drugs reduced the risk of death by 24% for critically ill patients and reduced the time spent in intensive care by up to 10 days.

Bisoprolol Fumarate side effects
Plus sleep apnea (using
CPAP
) and fybromyalgia and acid reflux. I have been in contact with my GP several times, and they just said half the dose. I have done, but no difference. They wont allow me to come off them, until I have seen a cardiologist.

My dad has been recently diagnosed with PMR
He is overweight and also suffers from sleep apnea for which he uses a
CPAP
machine each night. He has high blood pressure for which he also takes medication. The GP prescribes prednisone for his PMR a few weeks ago which cured his pain completely almost instantly.

Is ECMO too soon??
My brother-in-law is 6 days in ICU (after 9 days on
CPAP
) My sis is taking the calls from the hospital (so hard to do) and the docs were today asking her questions relating to his suitability to fit the criteria of going to ECMO (which is is in a hospital 30 miles away).

If this treatments doesn’t work can have a machine like a
cpap
to push some air in. If that doesn’t work it’s pink fluffy cloud time. Hope that makes some things I not really on this planet. Love and hugs to all J xxx

Endocarditis complications
All numbers are improving, breathing at
cpap
setting even, responds to pain stimuli, opens eyes, but will not follow commands. Doctors are not helpful/hopeful and blaming it on “everything he’s been through”.

Sleep apnea newbie
The
CPAP
machine and service costs a lot more - almost double - than ordering the machine itself. Do you find the service worth it, especially for first timers? My somnologist sent me to the service provider.

Just wondering...
N 2 weeks I have to pick up a
cpap
machine to help me breathe while I'm asleep. I read were this could cause depression and anxiety, along with medical issues that I been diagnosed with. So of course this has added to my stress level. If it's not one thing its another. 😔😔😔😔

Feeling Sad
He is breathing, all be it with
CPAP
assistance, and his right side brain and spinal cord are unaffected, people keep saying its early days but his consultant didn't seen very hopeful of his future. My question is, has anyone experienced anything similar and resulted in any sort of livable life?

Masks for Sleep Apnea
He was given a
CPAP
machine for night time along with an oxygen machine. Up until a few months ago all worked well, but for some unknown reason he appears to have become allergic to the mask.

Snorepod (Jeeno Electronics)
Manufactured by Jeeno Electronics as an alternative to
CPAP
. Has anyone ever heard of this and even tried one?

Central Hypothroyid & Sleep Apnea
I tried
CPAP
many times in the past few years, different machines, masks, settings .. without benefit. My question ... is hypothyroidism causing my sleep apnea? Or, vice versa, the stress resulting from sleep apnea is suppressing TSH and causing secondary hypothyroid?

Dealing with probable but undiagnosed sleep apnea
Has anyone found any other methods for maintaining consistent good sleep for many nights in a row without necessitating a
CPAP
? Or is a
CPAP
absolutely necessary? They are so expensive and I'm not sure how I'm going to afford it, where I live they're around $3,000 each...
