I carry and emergency injection kit of
cortisone
. I hope I never have to use it. I had a follow up cardiology appointment on January 4th this year. I was told I needed open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve. Quite a shock that was. June 11 th I had the surgery.

Hello Thyroid colleagues I have recently tested for Cortisol. The saliva test , (4 times over 12 hours) was below the ref range for 2 out of the 4 tests and the other 2 tests were just within the ref' range. The 9am blood test was 113 - (ref range 135 - 532). I am wondering whether any of you who take

Buprenorphine affect cortisol levels?
Hello RLS colleagues Some of you may remember that I was prescribed a low dose of Buprenorphine to alleviate my (almost) lifelong RLS last year. Before that I was prescribed Oxycodone for a year or so. The Buprenirphine works well and completely covers my RLS. I was diagnosed with ME/CFS 2 years

Husband’s testosterone is extremely low. Anyone with helpful ideas?
My husband has lived with PC for around 14 years & has been on lupron injections since. 250 mg Zytiga & 5 mg prednisone were added 3 years ago. & despite usual hot flashes, fatigue, blood pressure ups & downs, did well. The last 6 months he has been extremely fatigued, shaky, lightheaded. His blood

Second GP visit following private Thyroid Panel
Hi Looking for some guidance please. I was picked up on a blood test about 18 months ago and am now taking Levothyroxine. I haven't seen much improvement (or side effects) but am now considered "managed" by the GP as my TSH is now within range. I had asked for further test and these were declined so

T3 and dropping cortisol levels
Since starting on T3 6 weeks ago my morning cortisol level has dropped. I know that Paul Robinson says that taking T3 cannot affect cortisol levels. I am trying to understand what might be going on before I see my consultant next Thursday. I am here talking about 9am serum tests because that is what

Still testing positive after 10 weeks
From that moment on, a battle began: antibiotics,
cortisone
etc. and finally she was admitted to the hospital (infectious/covid diseases ward) for a month and treated with antibiotics and a course of 5 of redemsvir.

Steroid injection
Now I am booked for a
cortisone
injection on the 22nd and X-ray on the 10th. Just reading that
cortisone
can start AF off in new patients. Is there a chance it could start my AF off? I know I have got to stop my blood thinner for a day before injection. Anyone else had one? Thanks.

Adrenal function results question
Hi All I am currently on 2.5 mg of Pred (and about to DSNS to 2 mg). I had a Serum Cortisol test in July 2022 which was 218 nmol/L. However, I had taken my pred as normal on the day of the test (3mg at 3 a.m., blood test at 9 a.m.) not knowing that you were supposed to abstain for 24 hours before.

Cortisol levels
Hi all, can anyone tell me if there is a link between Hashimoto’s and low cortisol levels. My cortisol level on a 9 am blood test is 271. What does this suggest?

adrenal support for hashimotos
afternoon all, I’ve just been reading up on Dr Wentzs theory about addressing the adrenal system to help people with hashimotos. I know I have very high morning cortisol but not how to help that going forward and what I would need to do. Everything I’ve read seems to be about low cortisol, not high

Pregnenolone
hi everyone I just wondered if there was anyone taking Pregnenolone and to hear your experiences with it? Dr M an ex GP who now ‘prescribes’ it as part of her protocol, recommended I take it due to 4-point saliva test showing a low cortisol and low DHEA ( just one within minimum) and to be honest,

I feel it may have something to do with the Symbicort and
cortisone
I have taken over the years. Does anyone know of an effective non-
cortisone
treatment? Thank you.

Is stopping Dabigatran for 5 days an overkill?
I am due to have an injection of
cortisone
and local anaesthetic in to my lower back, guided by X-ray. My consultant’s secretary has just called to book it and said that he said I have to stop dabigatran 5 days before the procedure.
