CKD, Dialysis, and Hair Loss
Has anyone experienced drastic hair loss (shedding in the shower, breakage when combing), especially since switching from PD to hemodialysis?

Stage 3A7,?
Hi there, I’m writing as a lay person on CKD so thought someone could provide insight. My mother in law is visiting from the Philippines and we’ve applied to sponsor her. The government won’t approve if she’s likely to need dialysis. She’s a diabetic (on metformin), her serum creatinine is slightly elevated

Life Expectancy
I am in my early 40s and started dialysis this year. I was diagnosed with CKD 20 years ago when I was in college and have been on BP meds for the last 10 yr. CKD affected my life since I was first diagnosed in college. There’s always an urgency to live life at fullest. It is scary with the uncertainty

Patience to Reach the Finish Line
The process for evaluation for a kidney transplant is so long and having to wait for decision from the committee who meets every Thursday about potential kidney transplant patients is very hard. The one thing putting mine off is that they’re not sure to give me a transplant since my issues with my heart

Mother has non-stop dizzy spells - unless lying down
Over the past several months my mother (80yo) has been experiencing continuous dizzy spells. She has been to several ENT - who seem to have ruled out vertigo, sleeping with a CPAP, tried acupuncture, stays hydrated but the medical community seems bewildered as to what it may be - im looking for solutions

Bloated tummy
Hello everyone. I just want to collect insights from you about my husband's condition. He has been in dialysis for almost 7months now. A few months ago, he used to cough especially when his head while lying down gets closer to the bed. Gradually, he can already sleep with only one pillow behind his head

Getting on the list
I’ve been on dialysis five years and I don’t think my doctor really cares they tell me I’m not a good candidate for my knee because I fell last year and I have no cartilage between the bones I’ve had to Cortizone shots and see the ortho doctor in November. I don’t think my doctor really cares about me

First exchange at home.
Welp, today’s the day. I’ve had 3 exchanges a day everyday in PD training for the last week or so and today was my first one at home. Yesterday I got a start with some supplies and was able to clean out a drawer to store everything. I decided to use a comfy chair in the living room and a nearby coffee

Early Hypo/Hashi's Complicated By Adrenal/Low Cortisol
Greetings everyone: Finally got fed up with my family doctor who knows nothing and went two routes - endocrinologist (my doctor reluctantly gave a referral) and naturopath. Symptoms I have just about every symptom of hypothyroidism I have ever read and I am confirmed Hashi's by antibodies and ultrasound
