Hi, I’m mainly on the thyroid page of health unlocked but I saw someone had mentioned sleep apnoea and this site so I strolled over. I also suffer from polymyalgia which is inflammation of the muscles and am on pain patches and co-codamol, unfortunately the patches fall off in hot weather and co-codamol gives constipation so lactulose is my friend now and again. I know as Iv had a total thyroidectomy I am now hypothyroid and that can come with sleep apnoea so I’m hoping if I ever get my dosage right I will not need Cpap but I have a fight on my hands getting t3 because it’s expensive and GP and endo say they won’t prescribe it. Have a good day everyone.x

Trying to get used to Cpap mask
Hi Dustpan, I am also hypothyroid and suffer from sleep apnea. Unfortunately, I think getting a handle on the hypo symptoms is unlikely because "your levels are within normal range" always means, as we know they aren't listening to the symptoms I tell them I still experience. I have had intermittent results with a CPAP machine and I feel we are unfortunately going to have to "put up " with the status quo, as we are not gong to be helpped by the doctors.
Hi there, actually I’m not in normal range I’m not converting t4 well to t3. My tsh is low which is good but could go lower and I know I need t3 to feel better so have a fight on my hands with endo as I have now got an appt in November to see him. If you look at the replies from others it tells me I need to get my vitamins optimal before I try and get t3. My gp says I am too low regarding tsh but the aim is to get it low and t3 & t4 in the upper range.
