Advice please
Can anyone recommend which blood tests I should have for a thorough Thyroid check. I had an ultrasound scan which showed U2/3 nodules 2 over 2cm and a further 3 smaller ones, I have a recent history of early breast cancer treated with surgery and radiotherapy. Have an urgent referral for further investigation

I have a history of breast cancer treated with radiotherapy, large nodules found by ultrasound on thyroid, affecting swallowing, waiting for urgent referral, dr requested bloods also, any tests I should request not routine for NHS thyroid bloods?

Hi everyone, My dad had a PSA test last week and it has risen from 1.7 to 10. He has recently come off a month course of radiotherapy to his so although we're hoping it could be to bounce, think it would be prudent to monitor this. His nurse has responded to me this morning saying that the oncologist

Head and Neck lymphoedema ?
If you have had treatment for a head and neck cancer - surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. You are at risk of developing lymphoedema in the head, face or neck. This can impact on eating , swallowing and speech, but simple self- massage, head, neck, shoulder mobilisations and breathing techniques

Tested positive for covid AGAIN
Well had a test Tuesday with ONS tested negative went into Poole hospital for a pre test for covid Friday and heard today from NHS that I've tested positive. That puts my start of Radiotherapy on Tuesday in jeopardy 😪. The test I had on Tuesday was swabbing throat and nose the test I had in the hospital

Delighted to be still here after my sell buy date!!!!
Hi everyone. I haven't been on here for a while but I thought I'd just update you on my situation. In September my weekly Taxol chemo treatment was stopped as it was not working. I was told that I had about 6 months life expectancy. Despite an emergency hospital admission and subsequent palliative radiotherapy

Chronic Radiation Enteritis Sufferer
Hi So glad I found this site. I feel so alone with this debilitating disease. I had radiotherapy in 1996 for cervical cancer. For many years I have suffered bouts of bloating, nausea, cramps, diarrhoea and constipation. I put it down to ibs and so did doctors until last year it had got worse and I’d

I will be starting chemo for the first time with carboplatin/docetaxel next week after recovering a bit from radiation therapy to shrink the prostate. Can others tell me of their experience with this treatment? They will also give me CSF (Zarxio). Age 69. Reside in the Pacific northwest. Diagnosed

Safety and Efficacy of Virtual Prostatectomy With Single-Dose Radiotherapy in Patients With Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer
FYI: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaoncology/fullarticle/2777068 Not sure I like the use of the term "virtual" prostatectomy. Several years ago something called a "brush biopsy" was promoted to dentists. IMO it was NOT a biopsy (though apparently the company was very aggressive in going after

Stage 3 Lung Cancer
Hi everyone, I’ve spent the last couple of months looking through various forums online and finally plucked up the courage to post today. My dad turned 60 this year and has recently been diagnosed last month with stage 3 lung cancer. It’s one tumour on the right side of his lung and his lymph nodes

Nausea as a consequence of radiotherapy
Because of a cervical tumor, I started going for radiotherapy. After the second day of therapy I have terrible nausea and all my food has a horrible smell. Is that normal?

What are the expected PSA values after SRT?
Hello, Could you tell me what are the expected PSA values after Salvage Radiotherapy (SRT), a certain fluctuation between 0,04 and 0,06 is normal after 7 months post-RT? Thanks!
