Telephone consultation for bowel problems!
Four months ago I was referred for an urgent colonoscopy, at the time I was advised there would be a 9 weeks wait. A few weeks later I was asked to do a stool sample and post back, done asap. Then, after several attempts to find out test results as not being sent to GP due to hospital request, I was

diagnosis doubts
I was diagnosed with limited systemic scleroderma 4 years ago with the usual positive ANA blood tests. But I still have difficulty believing the diagnosis – there is nothing visible! (apart from Raynauds which I've had for 30 years). My main symptom is non-absorbance of nutrition – I have lost a stone

colonoscopy yesterday-feeling a bit scared now
After my colonoscopy yesterday i felt relieved with the report saying "No evidence of cancer seen on this endoscopy" i was told they removed 1 polyp and took 8 biopsies. Today after the sedation wore off i read my report which confirmed 8 biopsies taken but stated " Colonic polyp and 1s polyp at distal

I've posted a few times on here but still worried sick with my health problems. I've had blood tests, stool and fit tests, 2 ultrasound scans all over the last 8 months and all been OK apart from a small fibroid and on and off my kidney results were raised so had repeats. I had a colonoscopy

Colonoscopy side effects
Hi, had my first ever colonoscopy yesterday to rule out cancer. It was clear so it was agreed that IBS was likely to be the cause of my symptoms. It's been a long fight! The procedure was quite painful and the report said 'gross looping' so I'd have to have CT in future if required. Looking for

Terrified of cancer not being taken seriously!
So I’ve struggled with what I thought was haemorrhoids for over a year now, with occasional blood in the toilet. As I had no other symptoms I wasn’t worried, and just used creams etc for the haemorrhoids. However, I am aware more recently I have been straining to go to the toilet but sometimes my stools

59 and finally diagnosed
So finally after being told by my doctor many years ago bad periods - even with shooting pains down thighs and in my hands - was normal for some women. I complained many times but was fobbed off with otc painkillers. And of course IBS was mentioned Then it was definitely IBS .. 4 colonoscopies, one

Biopsy results from Colonoscopy
I have just had my results of the samples taken on 12th June. No cancer thankfully. I have widespread diverticulitis which has aggravated my ' focal active colitis'. The colitis might be self-limiting. This was news to me as I didn't even know I had colitis. I have been referred back to my GP and they

Beta Blockers and Vagal Afib
So in a small comment on a blog a year or two ago I saw a doctor state that beta blockers can actually irritate vagal afib. As I was coming up to my colonoscopy last week, I started taking 1 atenolol in the morning again just as a safety thing because I was worried all the digestive uproar would cause

Since my periods starting back when I was 12 I always bled from my bottom. I never knew that wasn’t normal as it always happened to me until one day when I was about 17 I actually sat and questioned it and asked Google. Endometriosis was what come up and I was petrified as it has no cure. I have had

Inteferon benefits
While my platelets refused to budge much on Interferon since stopping it the joints in my hands and feet have become painful my hips and lower back ache. My skin is much dryer and nails more brittle. I have a colonoscopy booked next week once done I will restart the dreaded HU. It will be interesting

colonoscopy
so had my colonoscopy yesterday. They only gave me a half dose of sedative due to the asthma and breathing problems, but it was fine. I’d say uncomfortable with occasional dull pain and easy to cope with. They found a large polyp, which I could see on the big screen, which they removed and sent off for

How difficult is it to diagnose Adenomyosis?
Hello, I hope you are all well and surviving the heatwave! Long story, but for 6+ years I have been experiencing worsening gynaecological pain. This started during ovulation and was a fullness within the pelvis and sharp pains within the rectum and to the lower right of my back/abdomen. Gynae referred

Hallo :) On June 13th, I underwent a gastroscopy, which showed the presence of hiatus hernia and hypertensive portal gastropathy, as well as gastritis. Multiple duodenal biopsies were taken at that time, which were normal. Last week I underwent a colonoscopy, which more than explained the heading to
