Hello all, I joined IBS Network as I am a member of MPN Voice through Health Unlocked. I haven’t been diagnosed with IBS but seem to have the symptoms. I.e. abdominal aches, constipation and stomach cramps when going to the loo. When I take gentle laxatives I’m constantly back and forth with only small bowel movements.
what is concerning me is I have a constant ache right along the pelvic area and I wondered if anyone else experiences this. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis several years ago after a colonoscopy but I recognise the symptoms of this when I have a flare up. I’d be grateful for any views please. Kind regards

Please discuss any changes in your health with your doctor. Only a doctor can tell you what it is. They will need to run some elimination tests. Unless you have your diagnosis, you won't know how to treat it. If it turns out to be IBS, please check back in here since there is much that can be done to help.
Hi. You are almost mirroring my symptoms. Not been diagnosed either. But colonoscopy last year revealed diverticulosis too. Over the last 10days or so I’ve had lower abdominal/pelvic & back pain. GP has just put it down to constipation again & he advised me to take my Movicol on a more regular basis, with no offer of further investigations 🙄 I spent 3 nights in hospital last year (5 weeks after the colonoscopy) with impaction which I didn’t know what it was at the time. Pain was quite bad & went on for a couple of weeks. GP thought it may have been a bowel abscess. I hate to keep having to take laxatives, but I suppose I’m going to have to, or I could be in trouble again.
Any pain is worrying, especially when you don’t really know what is causing it. I hope your discomfort is short lived.
Hi Ally, your symptoms do sound exactly like mine with the exception of back pain. I’m not keen on taking laxatives all the time and they do seem to give me stomach cramps. Hopefully we’ll both find out what the cause is and get relief. It is worrying when we don’t know what it is. Hope you get answers soon. Fran
