colonoscopy

so had my colonoscopy yesterday. They only gave me a half dose of sedative due to the asthma and breathing problems, but it was fine. I’d say uncomfortable with occasional dull pain and easy to cope with. They found a large polyp, which I could see on the big screen, which they removed and sent off for a biopsy-results in about three weeks. If there is a bad result, then I’ll have to have a laparoscopy and there is a chance that I may have to have another colonoscopy as they said there was still a lot of mucus in there so was quite murky and difficult to see everything. I’m very glad that’s over!

Good job out of the way. My con said I think we will try without pain relief 🙄 WE. I did say he would have to be kind and gentle in that case and he was. I sso hope for the best outcome for you. It’s a troublesome business. Good luck. Xxx

I had mine 7 years ago now. I had a full colon removal and now wear a colostomy bag. I hope everything goes well for you.

The colostomy bag is not so pesky as it sounds but don`t worry about that you may never need one.

❤️

As I said, It is not as bad as you may think. There are some drawbacks, being out and about without a mobile loo or thick bushland when you need to empty the bag IS a drawback but hey, we all have problems of some sort.Hope you get through all the exams and proddings with a good result.

They went looking for 1 with me and found 7 the only worrying thing was my BP went to 200.The nurses in the recovery room went looking for the Con but he had gone to lunch, and all I got was a soggy sandwich and a very weak tea.

Yes similar here. Managed to make it on time after a long journey for 1.15, only be told they’d all gone to lunch! Eventually got in there at 2.05.

Crikey Pips! He Said he was only giving me half the sedative due to it being very hard on the heart and that was bad enough. You are my hero (or heroine!) xx

Hello Reader. The trouble with having poorly lungs is not being able to have much sedation and certainly not being able to be under general anesthesia. I can commiserate with the colonoscopy. Not the easiest test. I hope the polyp is benign. Best wishes to you. xx 😊👋
