I first started having issues with ovarian cysts in September 2020 and since then I seem to have flare ups of pain. My pain tends to come from the right side of my body and can be anywhere from under and around my ribs, my right abdomen, sometimes down into my hip area and radiates in to my back. The rib pain can be quite sharp at times. It gets so tender that I am unable to lay on my right side at night. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I have had scans in the last few years and a colonoscopy but nothing has been picked up apart from cysts that are there but then disperse?

Don’t worry if Endo isn’t showing on scans in general, doesn’t always. Cysts are more obvious, I don’t know much about cysts apart from if called chocolate it’s Endo related and can be very painful.
Chances are they’d need to confirm Endo with a laparoscopy.
I have had abdominal pain, rib area, digestive issues, I had endo/adhesions that really didn’t show much on any scan.
thank you for your reply MoonMaiden. I saw the gynae approx one year ago. I had waited ages for the appointment and when I saw her I felt rushed. She asked me a few questions but did not examine me or feel my tummy. I was probably a bit naive then and didn’t really know enough about enfibsi felt that I was being fobbed off.
I explained that I had been diagnosed with IBS from a young age, heavy periods, found it hard to conceive my children etc but she didn’t seem overly concerned and referred me back to my gp. Prior to my appointment I had spent 4 days in hospital with bad pains and it turned out I had an ovarian cyst which did eventually disperse. I frequently get pain in my ovaries like a niggling pain which comes and goes. I guess I’m just looking for reassurance that I’m not going mad and that I am thinking that it could be endometriosis.
Did you see the consultant or registrar? Chances were registrar, but otherwise crap Gynae. Do go back to GP armed with lust of symptoms, don’t miss anything, NICE guidelines and info from the Endo UK site. They have info on consultations as well as leaflets you can print and take with you. Have a friend or relative with you, they are less likely to make excuses, you have a witness. Personally I like the econsult on GP website to initiate as you can write everything, including you think it could easily be Endo and to do a referral. If you end up with a phone call have it on speaker with someone else and let the GP know. Unfortunately we have to be tactical these days and follow referrals through as they seem to go missing easily. Had that numerous times
