for about 4 years now I’ve had this feeling below right ribs it’s a full/swollen feeling when I sit down I notice it more and if I’m running it feels like I’m carrying something but I’ve had X-ray and 3 ultrasound all came back normal I’ve had colonoscopy which they removed some polyps and they still have no idea what it is I’ve tried all the different food diets and no change

Anyone suffering same symptoms

Could be a pulled muscle, especially if you excercise a lot

There are many conditions that can affect the gallbladder which is in that area. You could discuss with your GP at least to rule out.

I have the same and been diagnosed with multiple gallstones now awaiting for a referral for the gallbladder to be removed.

How did they find them as I’ve had ultrasounds and X-ray and nothing found

By ultrasound

I've got the same symptoms and intend to ask about them at my ultrasound in June. Did your doctors say anything about fatty liver disease or did they have any other ideas? I've got gallstones and the responses seem to think they're related. I've put on a bit of weight (pastries) this year but won't know if that's affected it till my ultrasound.

Now I see you do have some answers, so it sounds like the pressure may have something to do with gallstones. Thanks to all of Warfare's respondents and hope you find an answer (and of course please let us know!).

Hi

I had to reply as I’ve felt the same way for about the same amount of time! I also had a colonoscopy twice and had polyps removed but no explanation of what the right sided pain might be . Ive had blood tests, scans on my liver , galls bladder, kidney and uterus and nothing found. Its still there , sometimes I’m more aware of it than others , but Ive had all the scans to eliminate problems with various organs . So I sit leaning to the left and it feels less ‘squashed’ and i put a heat pad on if its really uncomfortable. As Ive got IBS I think its maybe gas related too. I went to see z physio about it and she thought it might be the psoas muscle and gave me some exercises , but I cant say it changed much .

Id be interested if you ever get to the bottom of yours. All the best xx

Hi again

It’s really weird but it goes away if something else hurts . For example I have a lot of chest infections and its almost like my chest issues become more prominent and i don’t notice my side ? Ive recently fallen over and hurt my wrist and its almost like that pain has ‘ overridden’ my side pain . I just feel everything has been investigated and nothing serious picked up so i have no choice but to live with it .

Have you had any investigations ? As well as the ones I mentioned before I forgot to say I also had camera down to look at stomach, but again nothing . It’s frustrating not to have an explanation.

Yes, I believe my cecum is swollen and, at times, it's like there is a cylinder on my right side; a visible object accompanied by excruciating pain. All scans negative so I'm having a capsule endoscopy... If gastro department can't find anything wrong, I'm pursuing endometriosis... I do have leaky gut, SIBO, Candida, systemic inflammation that has caused auto-immune response. It's a real party! 🎉😭
