Colostomy

If things go wrong then I could end up with a colostomy bag. I have two young children at home and a teenager who I want to be able to run around with and have fun. I just don't know what to do for the best, what would you ladies do if in my situation? All advice gratefully recieved.

Now I have a wound that is healing and a colostomy bag. As soon as I heal I will have anither operation to reverse the colostomy. I have not seen my oncologist since July so I have no idea about my stage 3 ovarian cancer. I should see him again in Dec.

Diagnosed 3c ovarian cancer back in July 2012, had debulking November 2012, ended up with permenant colostomy :) Started 2nd line gemcitabine/carboplatin plus the wonder drug Avastin, back in November 2013, after progression in the lymph nodes.

Has anyone had experience of having both a peg and a colostomy bag? I feel that it would be awful to have one food pumping food in to your belly and another draining out your waste. I'm very scared of what the future holds for him. I would just like some peoples experiences and views. ozg

He then had to remove more colon and give me a colostomy along with a large open wound from my belly button to my pelvic bone due to cauterizing the bleeding blood vessels.

My daughter Jaci suffered from OC, eventually she had colostomy and we were advised she would be in ITU for 3 days, however we had phone call 12 hrs later to say she had been moved to acute stroke unit due to emergencies in ITU. She then got infection and passed away.

They are operating, back to colostomy, whip out the ovary and hell why not, do a full hysterectomy. It's just now sinking in, the op is in about six weeks. I'm scared what I will end up with!

I'm completely beside myself... my consultant came round and spoke to me after and said i had severe endometriosis he removed as much as he could but my bowel and uterus are fused together and so he didn't try to detatched them as he was worried of damage and i would end up with a colostomy bag.

I'm already a colostomy bag user so my confidence has been bashed by that and other things that I won't go into now as you will all be bored to death. I have had various input from CPNs and support workers since 2011 none of it very successful as the care in my area Avon & Wiltshire is not great.

I`m worried that I`ll end up needing nappies, or have to have a colostomy to cure the problem. Has anyone else been in this situation?, & did you find a solution?

I had a colostomy bag for 7 months and had the reversal in April 2013. My endo pain has been constant throughout so I went for my first laparoscopy which then turned in to a laparotomy as my small bowel was torn during the procedure due to adhesions from the previous surgeries.

report on the cancer, he was smiling now, a bit of a Cheshire cat grin really, he says your chemo & radiotherapy finished last Easter and the secondary tumour was removed shortly after that, we realised that the cancer had not completely gone and we told you that we would have to operate and give you a colostomy

What doesn't help either is my sister has just had a full hysterectomy and has a colostomy bag due to the damage the endo has done to her system. I'm paranoid and terrified that I'm also going to have to go through this. Can anyone help with any advice please? Yours hopefully Sarah x

They have surgically removed the tumors, which crushed her colon and now has a colostomy bag which has been a nightmare to sort out. Chemo starts next week and right now she has virus that's making it very difficult to eat. She's lost 50lbs in the last 4 months.
