I have a lot of mucus from rectum and it is making my life miserable many times a day I run to bathroom with the strong urge to poop like old days before the colostomy. No blood or color just clear watery like mucus. I have tried enemas. I also have cancer so the drs keep saying this is normal and nothing they can do. I wear pads & depends. I have been taking a lot of herbs that fight cancer I don’t know if this is increased mucus. I don’t think I’m plugged up at all. I’m praying someone has advice that can slow down or dry up this annoying problem thank you

Hi ,

I to suffer from the same problem following a Loop ileostomy .

The stoma is great but faecal matter still goes down what is left of my small intestine and burns and excoriates my bum and crack .I have had this problem for 20 years and have searched for a remedy .

I have now found a possible answer ...an Anal plug.

This product is supplied by Coloplast and is called ...a Peristeen Anal Plug.

I will try this out in the coming weeks and report back

Cheers

Bob
