Fibrosis, does anybody feel as I do, ie not to bad.
Hi, I suffer from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis I was on the lung transplant list for 3 years but never got a call. I'm told it was my blood group, Oneg (very common) and my size, 6'1'' and 15.5 stone, so not huge. I have now been told that my lungs have deteriorated to the degree that I would not

My Dads car is exhausted and now so am I.
I got a phone call this morning from my Dad who is now in his 80th year. His exhaust had dropped off his old Renault Clio and he was wondering where to go and get a new one fitted. I am a motor mechanic with almost 40 years experience and had looked after the families vehicles until the dreaded lung

£14 million Lung Cancer Study
Just read in the Times that my oncologist at Aberdeen Royal infirmary, Dr Marianne Nicolson is to head up this major study into the mutation, adaptation and resistance within lung cancer tumours during treatments. This study will run for 9 years but hopefully the experts understanding will increase

Does anyone have any advice or experience of claiming for lung cancer after working in asbestos environment 15 years ago? Company dissolved.
I have discovered I have wide-spread non-operable lung cancer, and am having chemotherapy. As a non-smoker, I worked in an old industrial unit years back, and it's thought the cancer could be as a result of asbestos. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice when looking at possibly claiming compensation

All this talk of being young and what we did in out childhood has got me brooding a bit. I don't remember being happy past the
age of 10/11, It was then that I got terrible acne and to make things worse my eyesight became very bad and I had to wear glasses full time. I got called so many names - ugly, speccy 4 eyes etc. that it permanantly damaged my self esteem and confidence. Isn't it awful how cruel kids can be to each

My Results after Struggling to Get on Site
It has taken me hours to get on this new site, I nearly gave up. My results wern't good, I have a tumour in the bottom of my right lung and a big swollen lymph gland in the middle of my chest. To top it off, the registrar did not get a big enough sample out of my lung to identify the type of cancer it

Is there anyone out there?
Hi, I noticed there have been no new posts for a while and don't know if that's a good thing or not. Whilst I'm here, a quick update ......had my second round of Carbo/Premex last Thursday and was out of sorts on Sunday for two and a half days but have now bounced back. I mentioned to my oncologist

Hi Guys - an update on the journey
To everyone who is new to this site - keep at it. ;) I know my story isn't the best at the moment though I am on my 13th week of not smoking. I have my Bronchoscopy tomorrow and this will determine whether I shall be on curative or palliative treatments which I assume will be radio/chemo. I have now

What are your views on lung cancer awareness activity by the government?
This week the Department of health will re-launch the "Be Clear on cancer" lung cancer campaign. This autumn the Scottish government will launch the "Detect Cancer early" lung cancer campaign. What do you think of the effort to increase the public awareness of symptoms? Does your experience of diagnosis

Not so good/not so bad
I was diagnosed with stage 4 NSCLC in November 2010 and placed in Iressa in January 2011. By January 2012 my tumours had reduced by up to 60 percent. My scan in April this year showed that one of the tumours had grown from 8 to 13mm. The May Xray showed a fuzzy area at the base of my right lung

Today I wen't just a little bit crazy and a ghost was laid to rest.
I did something today that has made me feel very, very GOOD!! . My daughter and her boyfriend had been out for a cycle ride on my old bike and my wifes matching bike. These two bikes had been hanging up in the garage for 3 years now collecting dust, I know this because the last time I rode my bike
