has anyone been offered lung transplant using EVLP if they have how has it been for them

thank you for your reply, it seems that this evlp is very new and still on trial, but hey who knows, one day , i will keep fingers crossed for everyone.

I cannot help either, I had to look up EVLP. It sounds as though it will be a good thing though. Doubling the number of transplants can only be good and not so many wasted lungs. It looks as though this is in the early stages, so might be hard to find someone who has been through it. Good luck though.

I was on the list and was willing to receive an EVLP lung, eventually when I got my call they thought the lungs were going to go through the process, but turned out the lungs were good and didn't need to be put on rig x I think it's a great idea as they make sure the lungs are in top condition before transplant, perhaps making them better than other lungs which are deemed suitable for transplant without EVLP ?
