Self-confidence..
I am lacking confidence in what I am trying to accomplish from my daily life to my medical journey.. It happens when I feel sick or tired.. Then I tend to procrastinate and postpone things to do... I tend to doubt.. It’s ok I know I must pull through, not let it slide.. I need reminding of the beauty

Tagrisso
My brother (based in the USA) has been diagnosed with Lung cancer, which has also spread to the lymph nodes and 3 bones as well. He has been started on the drug Tagrisso in the past few days. The cost is $5000 per month over and above their medical insurance contribution, which is not sustainable for

RECEDING GUMS DUE TO MEDICATION FROM LUNG TRANSPLANT. HELP?
I am in recovery from a double lung transplant. I am so fortunate to be able to breathe properly again! However all the drugs I am using are ruining my gums, I am 65 so I know teeth and gums do get worse, but is there anything that will prevent this gum deterioration.

Anxiety—Need reassurance
Last Saturday I experienced a sharp pain in my right rib area, and my mind jumped straight to the conslusion that my
lung
may have
collapsed
. I then worried about it all week until yesterday I finally figured out that the pain I was experiencing was just due to muscle tension.

Two Asthma Attacks in the space of Two Months—Should I be concerned?
I had no cold, flu, pneumonia, no
collapsed
lung
, no scarring, no allergic reaction.. What in the hell happened, and can any experts out there pinpoint something that was clearly or possibly missed that may have caused my attacks? Am I still at high risk of yet another one?

Happy 2 year lungaversary to me!!!!
Well it's been two years since my single lung transplant. It's not been easy I tell yer, 3 months after transplant I had to have my other lung removed due to aspergillus but that went completely wrong and I went into cardiac arrest four times and ended up in a coma on ecmo for three months with a trachy

Lung transplant - how do youmake that decision?
hi everyone,I have just been told that I forfill the criteria for a double lung transplant at Birmingham QE. It’s massive news and I am delighted to be accepted and have that chance, however I’m not sure I’m ready to make that decision. It all feels a bit surreal. I lost my partner 2 years ago to cancer

DVLA and insurance
My husband has been diagnosed with NSCLC lung cancer with a malignant effusion and has started immunotherapy. The car insurance is now due to be renewed. My questions are : does he have to tell the insurance company about his diagnosis, does he need to tell the DVLA, will the DVLA say he can't drive

Another surprising visit
Hi everyone, Went to the respiratory specialist in Lausanne. Had my pfts done he said I lost a little of my volume capacity, thought it was because of my cough. He heard wheezing and crackling. I thought that’s it, someone is going to believe, give me antibiotics, make me feel better, well no. I had

Is it normal???? 🤔
OK so I'm coming up to my 2 year lungaversary! I had a single lung transplant and my other lung completely removed. I am suffering extreme pain in both sides today to the point it has brought tears to my eyes. I want to know if this sort of pain is normal so long after a transplant?

Lung Transplant outcomes differences between Transplant Centers
Hello I would like to ask if when being referred for transplant did the respiratory consultant offer a choice in the transplant center. The reason I ask is there appear to be large differences in transplant outcomes particularly 5 and 10 year survival rates between centers. I was researching on the NHS

Not sure how to feel!
15 months ago I was rejected by Papworth for a lung transplant as they said my oesophagus was too damaged and I wouldn’t survive the operation!!! Obviously, this initially felt like a death sentence as I felt that was it. Although the thought of going through a lung transplant scares the **** out of
