Partner had chest x ray showing shaddow on lung.
I'm worried sick and just wondering if anyone on here has had the same and what the outcome was? My partner was sent for a chest xray by his GP after having flu symptoms with a cough which has been present for around 7 weeks. The GP called him 2 days after the xray and told him there was a shadow on

Anxiously awaiting diagnosis
Hi all, Firstly, apologies for the rambling post, but it really helps to write things down sometimes. I’m new and found my way here through the PAS webpage, as I was researching causes for low B12. I visited my GP in November as I was suffering with some digestive problems and was feeling very tired

Does anyone know how long the test for IF takes? My GP has said if I don’t have IF I can have injections every 8 weeks instead of the 10 weekly that I’m on. Is that normal? I'm very lucky that I have a supportive GP.

Fluid on the lungs
Hi everyone My Mum had a chest X-ray last week and it has shown that she has a small about of fluid on her lung, she recently had triple heart bypass surgery and apparently this is common after surgery. Has anyone got/has this problem? I’m trying to gather as much information as I can about it. Thank

Lower respiratory tract infection
I have asthma and have been unwell with flu since 27th December which then resulted in LRTI. I’ve had 3 courses of steroids and 2 different courses of antibiotics. I’m still very breathless and coughing up green stuff. The GP listened to my chest on Tuesday and told me my chest is now clear but sent

My daughter having attacks but only when swimming.
My 11 yr old who trains with a swimming club has recently started having episodes of tight chest pains and breathing difficulties. She’s had an ecg and chest x-ray which are clear and the doctor mentioned it could be exercise induced asthma. I can’t understand why it’s happening now as she’s been a

Emphysema
Hello, I am new to this site. I had a chest X-ray last week and have been told today by my doctor I have emphysema. I am very worried about this. Many websites say life expectancy is 5 years! I don't know how bad it is but I am assuming I have moderate emphysema as it showed up on the X-ray. I would

Cough just won't go away.
I've had this non productive cough since early December. Sometimes I can cough up some sputum but it is really difficult. Found a video which showed the Huff cough technique which does work but I'm basically sore from all this coughing. Night times are awful, usually starts at 3am for a good hour then

Confused
I had an appointment with rheumatology late December last year because bloods showed rheumatoid factor, waited 3 months for this appointment after over two years suffering lots of flair ups. Was told after consultation and bloods taken for lupus they would see me in three months. I have received a letter

Copd flare-up.
I have now had this current flare-up for 3weeks, and I am no better. In fact, I'm worse, as I have been taking prednisolone, but today is my last day as I'm not allowed them after 3weeks. I have severe shortness of breath, and heavy coughing fits(dry cough only). I have had 3visits to the doctors, and

B12 150 or 190 lower limit?
My B12 at 178 is way above the lower limit? Or is it? Hi there. I asked the Doctor to check my B12 because of some symptoms I was having, eg tiredness, joint pain, mostly knees, and lower back, involuntary biting of tongue, and inside cheeks (really weird), and my mother and father were both diagnosed

Have I missed a trick?! Intrinsic factor testing without gpc antibodies test
I had a rushed but good conversation with GP. He says my b12 has been about 200 since 2015!! I didn’t even know it had been tested before. In December 2017 b12 was 175. Since I have autoimmune thyroiditis I asked to be tested for PA. He agreed and ordered intrinsic factor antibodies test. Is testing

Long lungs
Hi I have COPD. I recently went to see my gp as was more breathless than normal on walking. Was sent for chest X-ray to which I was told my lungs are very long. They had to do 2 X-rays to get them on. A bit like a jig saw puzzle 😂😂. My X-rays were sent back to my gp the same day and was called into

Chest pain despite clear chest x-ray result?
Hi there. Back in August, I felt chest pain for quite a few days so I went to the GP who told me that it was chest pain I was feeling, and offered some painkillers should the pain be unbearable. It went away after a week, and all was well. I felt pain again in December, and went back to the GP, who now
