sharing a small positive

Disclaimer: I haven't been diagnosed yet, but endo is suspected.

Just wanted to share some hope. I am on my period at the moment. The first day was the usual awful start; woke up at 1.45am by the pain, feeling like I'd been shot in the pelvis, stumbling around for painkillers and sitting in a hot bath for ages blah blah...you guys know this feeling!! However, I have made two changes this cycle which I think have helped me:

1) castor oil packs. I read it online and thought nah that can't work surely? But then a bottle only cost me £6 and I had nothing to lose. Well I think they have helped. I had a hot shower, covered pelvis back and front in castor oil and then applied heat on top (lots of methods online). The pain subsided and I could fall back to sleep for a bit. Even if it's only psychological, for £6 I don't care :)

2) Following Lara Briden's recommendations re. supplements. I have also bought her new book the Period Repair Manual. All I've done is add in magnesium glycinate, zinc and selenium. My diet is fairly clean anyway as I have coeliac disease and am lactose intolerant; so I avoid A1 dairy and gluten as standard.

I had my usual GI upset/IBS flare ups but I think that may have been due to mefenamic acid. I switched to diclofenac for day 2 and the upset was reduced. I am going to take someone's recommendation about using a probiotic near my period too. :)

Oddly enough my flow has been much lighter too this time around?

I have still had the headaches and ridiculous fatigue (sat in a chair for 7 hours!) but the pain itself has been reduced. Still annoying, but not as bad as last month.

Today is day 3 and I have a dull ache on my left side but I haven't needed to take painkillers today yet (famous last words...lol!)

Keep on keeping on endo warriors xx

I have caster oil at home but have never tried it for pain, how do you apply heat to your lower back/ womb area? Do you just apply caster oil directly to your skin after a hot shower? Thanks for the tip!

I have use castor oil packs for 4 months know and it helped me. Also I have read that Dandelion tea is good for detox ( liver -removes estrogen ) and I drink every day 2 glasses and supplementions like omega 3 ( decrease inflamation) , B complex ( for hormonal balance ) and magnesium zinc and calcium ( for muscle pain and zinc plays a big role in the synthesis of progesteron).
