Pain relief
Anyone got advice for effective pain relief I'm currently on co-codamol, ibuprofen and tramadol. But suffering to many side effects with the tramadol and trying to avoid taking it, not very successful as so much pain can't stand up straight.

Another Locum
I was at the rheumy clinic yesterday and again another locum (haven't seen the same doctor in over two years!) This one was pleasant enough. he said my last blood tests the CRP and PV were raised. he checked my wrists and legs. said he could see were I have inflammation and it needs sorting(well yeah

Are there stronger NSAIDs than Diclofenac? Does anyone give me good pain relief advice, please?
Hi I am getting pain which can't get rid of Diclofenac. I have been taking Naproxen regularly and still getting pain so I level up to Diclofenac but still getting severe pain. Diclofenac is the strongest NSADs I got from GP. I have codiene based tablet, co-codamol, solpadol and Tramadol. But co-codamol

Urinary Retention
Hello. Has anyone had urinary retention a while after taking Co codamol? This lasts until the next which makes my weight go higher. I also take diuretics, amitriptyline 20mg, gabapentin 30mg and Levothyroxine but this only happens when I take the Co codamol and is very unpleasant. My GP has changed

Back pain and hydroxy
Hello All, I'm now 42 and have ET and been on hydroxy since diagnoses about 5 years ago, I have always suffered from intermittent back problems after a mortar cycle accident years ago. Recently the problems have been much worse to the extent I'm having difficulty walking and doing everyday tasks, GP

Hi I take 20mg of Methotrexate once a week, 2000mg Sulfasalazine everyday, 50mg of Diclofenac 3x a day. With 30mg of Co-codamol to help
Have just been to see my consultant a couple of days ago, says Rhuematiod is under control but I am still in pain pretty much on a daily basis. He did not seem to take much notice of this as blood tests indicate ok. Is it possible to be under control and still be in pain.

Hi, I suffer from RLS each night and I am due to go into hospital for a knee joint replacement. Any advice would be welcome
Having suffered with RLS for many years on a nightly basis I take Pramipexole and Co Codamol and have my own routine for trying to get some quality sleep. I am very concerned that immediately post operation with my leg immobilised, how will I be able to cope when my RLS kicks in?

Feeling a bit down...
I was diagnosed with early RA a couple of weeks ago and I've started methotrexate. I've only taken two doses and also had a steroid injection. I'm still on 90mg Arcoxia and 30mg/500mg Co-Codamol. I'm feeling a bit down because I don't feel much improvement. The steroid has improved my foot pain slightly

Mum recently diagnosed with inoperable PC
10th April was the worst day of my 21 years so far. Mum had recently been to the doctors with uncomfortable pains round her belly and back. She was sent for an endoscopy and CT scans. 2 days after the CT scan she got a phone call from a doctor at Treliske Hospital in Truro to say he has some news and

Can I take Co-codamol with Arcoxia and diazepam?
I'm currently taking 90mg of Arcoxia a day for lower back pain. I've just aggravated my condition and sent my back into spasm so my doctor gave me some Diazepam as well. I'm still in pain though so was wondering if it would be safe to throw some Co-codamol into the mix as well?

Ruptured Cyst?
I woke up in severe pain last night, feeling nauseas, hyperventilating and pain down my thighs and lower back. I took some co-codamol and filled a hot water bottle and felt a bit better after a while, didn't get much sleep though. I phoned NHS24 this morning, I told her im on painkillers for a cyst

pain relief after laparoscopy?
Hi all, have a laparoscopy soon (no date yet...), it's my first one. I got a leaflet from the hospital which said that they will not provide a prescription for pain relief after the laparoscopy as all that should be necessary are 'simple pain relief' - paracetamol and ibuprofen, which can be bought.
