Ferritin and Iron tests
Hi, Should the Ferritin and iron tests be taken fasting? I did mine after dinner and got unsaturated Iron towards the bottom of the range: 37.5 (range 24.2-70.1). Is that something I should worry about? I was have hypothyroidism and treated with 50mg of levothyroxine per day and my new blood tests uncovered

Madopar for RLS
I have had RLS since childhood and self diagnosed in 2000 when I was on Pergolide which was discontinued. They then put me into Madopar which was ineffective unless I combined it with Pramipexole 0.088. Having read all the dreadful things on this site for Pramipexole I have now changed to Pregabalin

Tg antibodies help please
I am worried about my sister. I know nothing about tg antibodies because mine are very low so never been something to think about. My sister has been on 150mcg levothyroxine for 17 years. Overcast few months a new doctor has lowered her dose to 100mcg because her TSH is suppressed. Same old story. She

Hashi and food allergies
Morning everyone. I have high TPO antibodies, 1300, and am on 75mg of Levo currently. I have had horrible migraines for 3 years and going gluten free 6 months ago reduced the regularity to around every three weeks. I get incredibly bad sinus pain around my cheeks/nose eyes, diarrhoea, nausea.

Difficulty Reaching Diagnosis
Thankyou in advance for any advice provided. For over 3 yrs I have suffered with muscle fatigue, joint stiffness and pain, excessive thinning hair, dry brittle nails and skin, tiredness where even 8 hours sleep doesn’t stop me falling asleep. I eat healthy with an BMI of 20.2, exercise daily by walking

Querying the results we have back...
Having asked for the annual blood test to check my husbands thyroid we wondered if anyone could confirm if these results are anything to worry about. I shall put the ranges in brackets? We did ask for a TG (TgAb) and Vitamin D but I cannot see this in the report we have. TSH 0.01 (0.35-4.94), T3 0.85

Normal results or central hypothyroidism?
Hi Do these results lean toward central hypothyroidism or do they appear healthy? Both my TPO and anti thyroglobulin antibodies are negative. The results below were all taken in the late afternoon over a course of a year. Feb 2019 TSH: 1.68 (.45-4.50) Total t4: 8.0 (4.5-12.0) May 2019 TSH 1.47 (.45

Question regarding ANA
Does anyone know why TPO antibodies are on the ANA test if Graves disease and Hashimoto’s are not systemic autoimmune diseases?

Can you swing from Hypo to Hyper and when you do, can continuing with Thyroid meds actually make your symptoms worse?
Hi All Any ideas gratefully received on why my main symptom of muscle aches, especially of the vastus medialis, (I am a keen cyclist) have become worse, despite my thyroid numbers improving on the usual thyroid meds? I was diagnosed Hypo in May last year by these Medichecks results from 26/4/19 TSH

6 monthly thyroid checks via gp
I have just came across an old letter from rheumatology. From Aug 2018 where 6 monthly thyroid checks are recommended. They haven't been done by the gp since then and I completely forgot all about it. I think rheumatologist requested it due to the high tpo antibodies which were >1000 at the time. I

Do we have Graves antibodies forever, even after RAI?
I was hyper in 1987, and in my medical records one endo mentioned Graves, and one mentioned Hashimotos thyroiditis. There's no record of any antibody tests, just high T4 and low TSH. I had carbimazole and PTU, but relapsed afterwards, so was given RAI in 1989, and have been very hypo ever since. I

Do I have a looming/potential thyroid problem
I’m almost half way through my second pregnancy and because my mum was concerned about certain symptoms, which I’ve always had and certain blood test results from a few years ago, being less than optimal, she suggested I get re-tested. This I did and here they are. For some reason I could only upload
