Should I take daily prednisone dose before CRP test?
I seem to be having a PMR flare. I am getting a CRP and Sed Rate test today and wondered if I should withhold my prednisone dose until after I have the test? Thanks!

Increasing to 25mg Metoject
Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone has experienced going from 20mg to 25mg Metoject injections? I have been on 20mg for nearly 2 years which has worked quite well for me but sadly have now had a prolonged flare which is affecting nearly all finger joints in both hands, wrists and my ankle. Saw Rheumy

Swollen painful hand
I've had PMR for 2 years. Was started on 40 mg of prednisone. I have slowly gotten down to 13 mg. Recently I tapered to 12 mg but have not felt very well & suddenly my right hand fingers are swollen & very painful. This has never happened before. Is this some kind of flare?

Hi, just to recap I had been on 8mg Prednisolone for about 5 to 6 weeks and thought I was having a flare after pushing friend around garden in a wheelchair so increased to 10mg. Your general concensus was that it was more likely DOMS, which hopefully it was. I'm keen to get back to where I was so am

ERA protocol - what meds to include
Hey ladies, Last month I did an endometrial biopsy in order to see if the uterine cells look as they should, and they do! Which would mean that the endometritis is gone, at least judging by how the endometrium looks like under a microscope. This month we are doing the Endometrio test (Era, Emma, Alice

Started with pmr diagnosed and Rheumatologist decided it is PsA. HD it since April. Started prednisone at 25 mg and reducing. Now at 10 mg and started on methotrexate to speed up the prednisone reduction. Rheumatologist wants it done asap. Most days ok but still some leg thighs, neck and shoulders

Got back lots of lab results from rheumy visit today. CRP dropped from 100 in Feb to 6.8
Doing very well too, feel good. I feel I am over PMR or on the downhill side of this. Still at zero prednisone for more than a week.

Link between dry eyes and throat and PMRGCA? Any ideas?
This is my first post, so it’s a bit long-winded, as I’ve included some context and background. Context: • About 20 years ago, when I was in my mid-50s, I developed dry eyes and dry throat. This was eventually diagnosed as ‘dry eye/dry throat syndrome’. I had my tear ducts plugged to minimise loss

Emergency treatment for GCA blindness
I have just joined this forum, so excuse me as I am relatively new to this, My Mother has been dealing with GCA for over 5 years, and generally doing very well, with almost no specialist assistance. Starting on 60mg per day of Prednisone and Omeprozal (stomach protector - but obviously dangerous) Mastacal

Is this Adrenal Insufficiency ???
Hello wise people , Looking for your thoughts please , I see my Rheumatologist in 3 days and I think he may want to change my current 5 mg Prednisolone or even add something in . I feel reasonably well informed and have no issue with pushing for his rationale behind his thoughts . I can’t really

6dp5dt - bleeding and getting a faint line in the test
Hi everyone. First time posting here! In my bio is all my IVF trip. Last week, we did our 5th transfer. It’s been 7dp5dt (euploid... we did a GPT test), and I'm having menstrual symptoms (cramps and nausea) and a bit of blood when I'm going to the toilet. Theoretically, between today, 03.11, and Sunday

Do exacerbations follow exacerbations?
Hi all, You may have seen my other thread. I am a man in my early forties and had a rude awakening to asthma with an almost two week hospital stay about 1.5 months ago with lots of mucus in lungs and for one week I was on oxygen. Last week I got a cold which quickly went to my chest leaving me clogged

Lumbosacral plexopathy - Pain returning after steroid treatment
So further to my previous post on this subject, and I can't find much else on HU about this particular problem, but here's where I am now.....I've just finished a 4-week course of Prednisolone to calm down the inflammation. It really helped to be honest by heck I've had the munchies, knackered but wired

prednisone and antibiotics
Has anyone had a problem with antibiotics wiping out prednisone. Was down to 2.5-lowest in 8 years. Took antibiotics (Bactrim) and all old PMR symptoms came back. Hurt all over. Read Bactrim and Cipro are quinolones and do not work well with Steroids. Neither Dr or pharmacist knew this. Not sure how

GCA Update
hi wonderful, helpful people, My rheumatologist agreed yesterday to drop my prednisone dosage from 60 to 50 mg. I am hoping that will make a difference with my vision, which is still very poor. My left eye won’t focus at all and my friend who took me to the doctor yesterday told me that it’s sometimes
