Started with pmr diagnosed and Rheumatologist decided it is PsA. HD it since April. Started prednisone at 25 mg and reducing. Now at 10 mg and started on methotrexate to speed up the prednisone reduction. Rheumatologist wants it done asap. Most days ok but still some leg thighs, neck and shoulders pain

Am I right in thinking pmr = polymyalgia-rheumatica and psr = Psoriatic arthritis?

I hope the methotrexate works well for you. Are they sending you for physiotherapy?

I too started with PMR 18yrs ago - but now diagnosed as sero-negative arthritis.

Prednisilone was used in PMR and reduced after taking 15mg methotrexate - now n 2.5mg of pred and staying on that with 10mg MTX. Reheumy says he is reluctant to withdraw pred completely. I still have pain in hands and feet but no side effects from MTX. Pred over a long period of time has given me thin skin and I bruise at the lightest knock.

Stick with it - as long as you feel ok in yourself.....I don't think the pain will go completely but

more bearable
