Experience of Covid Vaccines and Adrenals
I know the covid vaccines are a hot topic here. I don’t know if mum’s experience is helpful to share. Last years jabs were both a nightmare - led to weakness, temperature, light headedness loss of mobility and a significant down step in her dementia. Despite being a real advocate for the jabs I was

Eye problems following catheter ablation
I am now 10 weeks post catheter ablation.Following the procedure I developed aura migraines daily for around 10 days. The fact sheets explained that this was a possible complication and should rectify itself, which it did and 🤞 I have not had any migraines since. I have now developed a bloodshot patch

Is it OK to take hydrolytes when you have PMR?
We live in Cyprus and are currently going through a heatwave with temperatures reaching 40C. I've had PMR since August 2020 and have been on 7.5mg of prednisolone since October 2020. In the past I've taken hydrolytes in very hot weather as I suffer badly from head sweating. Strangely enough, nowhere

Gastro Resistant Prednisolone
Am on 4.5 mg Pred currently. If I ask for 2.5 mg to help make up my dose my GP prescribes Gastro Resistant pills. I think this is because for some reason 2.5 coated are cheaper. They wont prescribe the coated 1mg to go along with it! I have been reluctant to take this split dose of coated and non

Returning temporal headaches after stopping Tocilizumab, what to do ?
I will try to be brief. UK male aged 70 Diagnosed with GCA (ultra sound scan only) 2 years ago. Only minor symptoms experienced (mainly temporal headache). 65mg Prednisolone prescribed daily for 2 weeks, then to reduce by 5mg per month. A couple of "flares" (just headaches) in the following 12 months

Mycophenolate Mofetil Anyone?
I saw a different Rheumatologist in the clinic recently. He appeared satisfied that I was on long term 5.5 Prednisolone (I had previously run into trouble at 5mg) but his follow up letter indicated a plan to offer me Mycophenolate Mofetil as a DMARD to get me off steroids. Has anyone had experience of

Just Another Hurdle or We Like The Hills.
These are mantras we say to ourselves either in silence or out loud. I don't know about you, but for me discovering I had something that couldn't be cured but could be contained was a shock and relief. That the experts didn't know what it was or why one contracted it was unsettling. The instant relief

Confused.
Morning all, I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia onset Rheumatoid Arthritis in Dec 2020 which came on suddenly . I was prescribed 15 mgs Prednisolone and symptoms improved markedly within 2 days. I was also prescribed various other medications for RA. I have been on varying doses of Prednisolone since

Flare?
I have read previous posts and really helpful but still not sure what I need to do now.. I probably reduced Steroid more than recommend. Started on 12.5 in December 2023 very reluctantly. I don’t like taking meds generally so def didn’t want steroids. I diagnosed myself and googling symptoms & confirmed

Neutropenia whilst on Tocilizumab
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Diagnosed with PMR and GCA Nov. 2021. For last 2 months I have been on weekly Tocilizumab injections; this followed a further flare up in December 2023 when the entire aorta was inflamed (I have never had cranial symptoms). I was certainly shocked

Rescue pack of prednisolone- when to start using them
Hi, This Tuesday I was prescribed a rescue pack of prednisolone (after much discussion with the GP, who eventually relented). I tested positive for covid on Thursday. I have always had a constant cough that produces lots of phlegm. I am currently waiting to see a consultant in July regarding this.
