D&V what to do with prednisole

I came back from holiday Tuesday morning . Took prednisolone at 4 am. In the afternoon I started with D&V. It stopped in the evening .I took usual dose of prednisolone on Wednesday and again today. My question is , have I taken the correct amount or should I increase slightly. I’m still in bed at the moment but hoping to get up later. Thank you .

What dose of pred are you on at present? If it is relatively mild D&V and you don't vomit within an hour of taking the tablets you should be fine. Are you in bed because you feel ill or just having a lie in?

Bit of a pain that - not a good way to finish a holiday!

PS - Just looked at your last post. If you are on over 10mg and you are just unwell as opposed to "ill in bed" that is probably OK for now.

I’m on 12.5mg. Yesterday I slept all day but feel able to get up today . As you say not the best ending to a holiday

I got food poisoning on the way home from our honeymoon! The direct flight from Tangiers to London was cancelled (in 1974) and we had an expenses paid day in Gibraltar with lunch at the Rock Hotel. I spent the night in the bathroom and was ill for a week. Must have been the lunch judging by the timing. Not impressive!

What a rotten thing to happen, at least it was not at the beginning of your holiday. I would treat it as you would normally for D&V, assuming that you are not vomiting up your steroid dose.

Thanks. No , I’d taken the steroids about 9 hours earlier fortunately
