I know the covid vaccines are a hot topic here. I don’t know if mum’s experience is helpful to share. Last years jabs were both a nightmare - led to weakness, temperature, light headedness loss of mobility and a significant down step in her dementia. Despite being a real advocate for the jabs I was beginning to query the cost / benefit for her - I am her power of attorney for these decisions.
i queried with endocrinologist and it is recommended for those who have adrenal issues to utilise sick day rules. So she had double dose for the day of the vaccine and only 48 hours after. Then back to normal dose. Well what a difference! No problems at all….same jab as last year but absolutely nothing with that tweak to her prednisolone.
I also did my own informal study on the floor of her nursing home. 22 people with dementia and lots of different health issues. 3 out of the 22 had temperature and needed a day or two in bed. All now have bounced back and as before…
May not be interesting to anyone ..but thought I’d share!

Now that IS interesting - especially since it was endo-approved. And at that stage for 2 days the pred won't interfere with the actual development of immunity.
yes, that was what I thought. I imagined she may have issues once the pred reduced but we’re now day 10 post jab and all well. I also wonder if that approach may prevent a post jab flare as it would perhaps provide increased anti inflammatory action when the system initially shocked 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
