3 Abiraterone tabs in place of 4.
Warriors Some time back I posted that my MO had told me to take 3 Abiraterone tablets with 5 mg Prednisone daily instead of 4 to help with an out of control Blood Pressure problem. I was worried (as were some of the responses) that this could impact the ADT therapy. Recently had blood work done

how quickly did you feel relief by taking prednisolone?
posted before about potential PMR. Painful bilateral shoulders, upper and lower back pain, neck pain, sacroiliac, thigh pain etc. raised. Inflammation markers so prescribed 15mg prednisolone with repeat bloods after 2 weeks. Just wondering if this is PMR, how soon can I possibly find some relief?

The Flare That Keeps on Giving
I was diagnosed with PMR in August, 2022. I also have multiple sclerosis, autoimmune thyroid disease (Grave’s) and Sjogren’s Disease. With a few ups and downs when I had to temporarily increase the dose before dropping back to just above where I had been before the flare, my taper using DL’s slow 5 week

titrating down Prednisolone
Titrating down your prednisolone becomes more problematic the lower the dose you are on so the reaction can be more profound, e.g if you are on 4mg for example & you reduce 1mg that is actually 25%. I titrate down 1mg every 6 weeks & have found I am having ‘withdrawal symptoms more than before so have

Had the ablation.
Monday I had the procedure under general anesthesia-safely and successfully. The did give IV cortef at the start of the procedure. Since they needed to intubate my throat is sore for days but my ears-especially the right one are achy. I was debating why aching now; pollen count is moderate, and my jaw

Moving on to Provenge/Sipuleucel-t
We met with my husband's onc yesterday to discuss the next move since the 3 years of Abiraraterone/prednisone has run its course. His psa numbers are now around 2.0 (up from a low of .04) and psma scan indicates that bone met volume is quite low. A recent lab biopsy didn't reveal much... The good doc

Nearing the end.......maybe.
I've spent the last 17 weeks extremely slowly reducing my prednisone dose from .5 mg to zero. I'm so close after 8 years, but am always mindful of PMRpro's mantra, "the lowest EFFECTIVE dose". Filling my pill box for next week I realized that there's only one more .5 mg dose for the next 2 weeks and

Much Better
Despite no inflammatory markers my GP believed I did indeed have PMR. I have never felt so well after 3 weeks on 15 mgs of prednisone. I'm beginning my tapering. My situation is a bit complicated as I have both MS and CMT so I thought my problems might have been neurological. I didn't know I felt so

Please help us decide on next treatment
Hi, my Dad was diagnosed back in 2021 with stage IV, Gleason 9, oligometastatic. He had 6 weeks of radiation at the time of diagnosis and has been for the past 2.5 years on Abiraterone, Prednisone and Lupron. As I mentioned in my prior post my Dad’s PSA started going up. He had a PSMA Pet scan and it

All in my mind, apparently!!!
I’d be most interested in opinions on this. Had a telephone conversation with my Rheumy a few weeks ago, which was 9 months since the last one – in a year when I had experienced considerable stress in Health, Work and Bereavement. I explained that I had tried to reduce the 20mg Methotrexate dose to

GCA question
I am happy to report I am feeling pretty good and down to 5 1/2 mg if prednisone. My question is, does anyone else with GCA get a pain like feeling in their head and a feeling that something is wrong or going to happen. The feeling only lasts several seconds but it is unnerving. I think about a stroke

Tapered to 2 mg
I have now been on 2 mg for a week and was expecting the usual fatigue when I start at a new lower level but instead this time I feel better than I have in months, much more energy. I hope it lasts! Does this typically happen when not so much prednisone going into the body?

Jaw locking while tapering for GCA
I am in the process of tapering from 65 mg of Prednisone for GCA. Tonight the right side of my jaw temporarily locked while brushing my teeth. If I am honest, my scalp is becoming a bit tender again, and my tinnitus has increased a notch. I was on the high doses of Prednisone for six weeks, and began
