I’m just starting a slow taper to 5.5mg prednisolone and aware my adrenals should be waking up but might not. I’m considering getting a medical alert bracelet but would appreciate advice on what wording I should have on it.

Med alert wording
Do you mean on the outside like engraving or on the bit of paper inside? My paper said firstly long term steroids. Then I put a rough reduction plan so they could see the timescale. Then list of main health issues and I would put any other essential meds. I have no idea if that was sufficient because thankfully I never needed it in those circumstances!
As soon as anyone starts long term steroids they need to wear one in case they are in an accident and can’t speak for themselves, because the danger starts about 3 weeks after steroids are onboarded.
Thanks SnazzyD. I have kept thinking about getting one but just haven’t got round to it until now, I do carry a steroid card though. It was the engraving wording I was unsure about, would “on long term steroids” be enough along with my ID?
I don’t know how I’d cope without the members of this forum, always a font of knowledge and experience
Mine says ‘Long Term Steroid User’ ‘Since’ with the Date; My ‘NHS Number’
I also have a Red Silicone one that l bought during Covid (just in case) & wrote extra info on the inside.
Mine is simply engraved with the words 'steroid dependent' and my husband's phone number. He knows I carry the red emergency card in my purse.
