PCSK-9
Interested to see that PCSK-9 is now available. I have FH and took part in a trial for this drug. Injected once every two weeks along with a real or placebo statin my cholestrol was reduced by half!

cholesterol measurements
Can someone explain the way cholesterol measurements are recorded now. Until 2 years or so ago you had : Total; HDL; ratio; LDL and triglycerides. Now you have Total; HDL; ratio; and se no HDL. This last measurement puzzles me and what does the 'se no' stand for? I understand it is LDL and trigs combined

Rising cholesterol
I haven't written on this site for over a year so hello again! I just wondered whether I am likely to be offered a statin at my next drs visit in about 6 weeks. my BP had suddenly shot up to 150<> /90<> when I had my 6 month check up in September for no apparent reason. In the surgery it was 200/100

On one of the other posts someone said that they wanted everyone with FH in the country to be identified. That's fine, but what if they don't want to be identified themselves? I really really wish that the GP I saw at the doctors surgery had never mentioned my cholesterol level. I hadn't asked for

Over the last 2 years since having a heart attack and one stent implanted I've had 2 different statins simvastatin Lipitor and currently Pravastatin all in turn have had an effect of causing me to have nightmares and odd dreams are all statins likely to have this side effect? or is there one which doesn't

next steps
Hi, I'd like some advice on a health issue which could relate to B12 deficiency. Recently I started experiencing occasional numbness mostly in the legs and feet but occasionally in the arm/hand. I thought it might be due to sitting too long in one position and thought little of it. This escalated over
